A college with Knowledgeable friendly staff who will do everything they can to ensure that the students pass their course and move onto employment.
Rubbish college can't replied to phone calls or email.tell student what they can do in life.
I am currently attending this college and unfortunately I had had several experiences that have caused me much concern. Firstly, I feel that the college let me down very badly about getting DBS clearance. There was no mention of the absolute necessity for DBS clearance at my interview. I knew nothing about it until a day before i was due to start my work placement, when I discovered that I needed to apply for clearance in order to start my work placement. The process took SEVEN WEEKS, so I have missed a great chunk of my work placement hours which are an integral part of my course. This did not happen just to me. Most of the students on my course also had this bad experience. I fail to understand why we were not told about the DBS in our induction week. Why weren't we told to apply for DBS clearance during that first week? Secondly, there is chaos with the ordering of our work placement uniforms. As part of workplacement, every student is required to have a workplacement uniform. Unfortunately, none of the students have received a workplacement uniform . The students are all willing to pay for the uniform but there is no system to buy one. We are all baffled as to how to get the uniform. We have asked our tutors but they have never got back to us about this matter. Thirdly, my learning in Entry Level 1 for Maths is frequently destroyed by others in the class who have no interest in doing this essential subject. The students who are willing to learn have to try and help each other out and we generally feel that we are not getting enough teacher attention and are not progressing. We barely get any help from the teacher because she's too focused in trying to handle disruptive students in the class. Fourthly, I want help and advice about suitable pathways for next year but can't find anything on the college web site advising me who to contact about this most important matter. Fifthly, the college web site states that there are parent/carer review meetings , the dates of which are published at the beginning of the academic year. Me and my carer have spent a whole evening trying to find these dates - without success. On a good note, the GCSE English tutor is great and even gives extra tutorials and gives lots of help and support. If only other staff were this encouraging.
this is my second year here I'm doing my level two and the tutors not helping loosing peoples work and making people re do them when we have 4 days left it till the course is done not very happy with this course
