Do not waste your money on children's swimming lessons. The instructors are so disinterested, during lessons they are too busy chit-chatting with the lifeguards which itself is a safety concern.nnThe teaching pool is sectioned off to separate lessons. I saw 16 children squashed, and overcrowded like sardines in one of the sections an area 3m wide while the rest of the teaching pool was empty.nnI complained to management but no improvement, all I would say is not to commit to any membership and go and watch for 1 day!!nThe teaching pool is the smaller pool for younger children.
My experience at East Ham Leisure Centre was deeply disappointing. I initially enrolled my child with high hopes, expecting a safe and supportive environment to help build confidence in swimming. Unfortunately, this was far from what we experienced.nnFirstly, the quality of teaching was incredibly subpar. The instructors were unengaged, frequently distracted, and showed little interest in actually helping the children learn. They often seemed more focused on socializing with each other than on giving any constructive feedback or encouragement to the kids. It felt as if the lessons were just a routine they went through, rather than tailored sessions meant to support each child’s progress.nnHowever, the most upsetting aspect was the clear racial bias displayed by some of the instructors. I noticed a distinct lack of patience and encouragement toward certain children, while others received noticeably better treatment and attention. When I raised my concerns with management, they were dismissive and brushed it off as a “misunderstanding.” This lack of accountability left me feeling unheard and extremely frustrated.nnOverall, Easy ham Leisure centre failed on almost every front. If you are looking for an inclusive, supportive place for your child to learn swimming, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. My experience has left me disappointed and, frankly, concerned for other families who might face the same treatment.
I frequently go to east London when I do I occasionally pop into this centre for some swimming! There is this life guard I rarely see I believe her name Lidia. When I see her she has always got a lovely smile and is always kind and happy! I know I’ll feel safe if I ever start to drown
Poor lighting and poor ventilation at the badminton court. It’s too hot in there. They have the air cooler but only use them during the Judo classes. This place is ideal for day time badminton only during daylight. One of the staff member name Lashly is very rude. Everyone else seems very nice and helpful.
My daughter had a really bad experience with one of the swimming teachers here. She is only 4 and it was her first lesson, however she is also confident in the water and confident in general and really excited about learning to swim. No she doesn't want to go swimming at anymore, she's totally spooked. It was the Sunday 8:30am session. He might be good for older children, I don't know. But I would definetely not recommend this teacher for young swimmers that are beginners. We have cancelled the lessons despite them being 5 minutes walk away and wil be going elsewhere once my daughter has gotten over her new fear.
