Beautiful nature reserve. Lots of places to explore. There are lots of paths to choose from to walk down. I particularly like the one where you can walk down a huge hill to the ocean.nOnce on the stones, you can explore some caves if the tide allows you to!nLots of dog walkersnFree parkingnIt's definitely worth a visit as this place has some absolutely stunning views.
Loved visiting Easington Colliery nature reserve it's just up the coast from where we have moved to.nLovely for walking Dogs Our Furbaby loves it lots and lots of different walks and very friendly lady people and friendly Dogs
A lot of responsible dog walkers, well tended park/walking area with lots of scrub land for extended exploration. Heard around a dozen bird species and has sea views.
This sits on the former site of Easington Colliery and the transformation is amazingnThere are numerous footpaths for all abilities and all ages and very accessiblenSome of the paths link up with the English coastal path networknThe reserve has an abundance of wildlifenParking is free, just on the edge of the village near the play area, unfortunately there are no amenities.
The natural beauty of the place is breathtaking. And the local community deserves appreciation of their history!nThere is a circular walk around the Esington Pit Cage, and a park. The walk is by the sea, then there are multiple places to cross the railway safely and come back by the fields into the park ? around the Pit Cage. The best is to walk North up to an old railway bridge and climbe down to a bay with some pictures made of stone.nI only wish there was some sort of a plan for the park at the pit. It has a feeling of being abandoned half way. Parking is closed, you have to park onstreet. It looks like whoever was doing it run short of money, or economised on landscape design. There is so much potential to make it a beauriful park! But it feels they haven't thought through the plan for paths. And the trees planted were just put at random places. There is a beautiful group of huge columnar flowering cherries. But a lot more can and should be done, please! More so, because there is plenty of visitors, including older teens taking younger ones for a walk -looks very positive, not just the usual walking crowd. This place needs and deserves more effort!
