Local bakeries with a good selection of breads, pastries and savory breakfast. Would highly recommend the scramble eggs on toast with chili oil, as well as the Poplar buns that have a crisp exterior but chewy and satisfying bites. Services could be a bit better but the overall vibe is very nice, chill and local. They also have a good selection of dairy, olive oil, chili oil and coffee.
Excellent cafe / bakery / Roastery adjoining Bartlett Park. Friendly and attentive staff. Amazing sourdough breads and cakes / pastries. Single estate responsibly sourced coffee beans are roasted on site and the coffee served in the cafe is first class. Several varieties of coffee beans are available to buy in 250gm bags along with a small range of artisan food and drinks products. I would love to have this cafe on my doorstep.
The best scrambled eggs in the park, quite busy in the weekend but that just shows how good they are. Food is exceptional and staff is super friendly. Great vibes!Food: 5/5
Amazing and cute little cafe. They roast their coffee here and mill their flour on the other branch. Went to the london fields one and didnt realize this cafe is so much closer. Very family friendly. Has big space looks very comfortable for study or remote work. They also have fresh baked goods, zero waste stuff, I didnt realize they had maldon salt which I went to waitrose to gwt right after. They also have raw honey, organic eggs. Such a cute little gem the iced coffee was very strong, nice coffee.
E5 sourdough bread is number 1 in London, and I was so happy when I found they have a bigger cafe where we can set and eat. Their bread is the best in London, and I like there egg and halloumi bun taste really good and the cheese toast was okay. Their croissant and cinnamon bun are good as well. They have some good grocery options as well. The area where this cafe is open is nice as there is a playground near by so we can sit and enjoy our food and coffee while kids are playing. The only downside is the customer service, staff needs to be more friendly and service can be a bit faster.
When we arrived there in the late afternoon, most of the cakes were gone. My cappuccino had a little bitter flavour. My son is scared of dogs after being pursued and growled at by one, so we were forced to sit outside despite the cold as there was a dog roaming free inside.Food: 3/5
Thin coffee that’s now below average for east London, but offers some of the best baking in the area. Also serves popular breakfast and lunch menus. Play space for kids, and lots of tables to work at. Part of the Poplar Union community centre.Food: 3/5
Had the cinnamon roll and flatbread with eggs, its pretty decent but not my cup of tea. The taste of cinnamon in the roll felt like there was some fennel or other spice in it. Got a loaf of sourdough to go home too. Nice neighbourhood bakery near a quiet park, service is nice.
Just moved to this neighbourhood, I am so glad I found proper sourdough bread. The cafe has a great atmosphere, they also sell a lot other organic produce, eggs, oats, etc. No doubt I will become a regular!Food: 5/5
Nice cafeteria but !!! -The serving glass is very small feel like I got latte in a espresso glass and the glass is not appropriate for serve coffee because it gets cold very quickly! Moreover if you ask for to warm it then, they seemed very confused how to warm it because the coffee glass wasn’t microwave proof! So they poured the coffee in another cup and warm it in a microwave! seems unprofessional to me! Therefore, the coffee tastes burnt to me , not sure how the other comments says they loved it, but I think they couldn’t make the latte properly the proportion of milk and expresso was wrong so the latte taste like macchiato! However the Fucaccia was good , not the best one but good as they made it by themselves. Inside it’s a good place to sit and have chat, but needs a lot of cleaning because the opposite side of the window is little messy. It’s a nice cafeteria in a good location, it’s close to the community, it’s a local shop so , I believe it deserves a little more maintenance and management.
