Stay away from EDF as a supplier! They have not replied to any of our emails and calls for a year when we’ve requested a change to a credit/smart metre and continue to take our money on a prepaid EDF key which we top up every day whilst misleading us that we will be upgraded. They’ve also been overcharging us on account no. 671152820712 and owe us money for this however again have not replied back to us at any point regarding this either. We paid the outstanding balance of £1,151.34 on 12th of October 2021, as we’ve been advised by one of them that if we pay this amount we can arrange an appointment for the meter change. we never got a reply for the metre change and the money we paid was put on a prepaid metre as a debt and they’ve charged us twice. We’re now being forced to use solicitors to get our money back
Absolutely abysmal company when they are required to send money owed to the customer, staff are clearly undertrained & have no idea. Waiting for over 3 months for a refund of just over £100, I suppose they just want to keep it as long as possible in their bank and then mug you off when you call or contact, please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE PANTS!! They should come with a warning use at own risk, absolutely F&£!?£@ S#%€ service!! Shame we can’t actually write what is needed to explain such a low level of service. You should be ashamed of yourselves!
Worst customer services ever! They claim outstanding invoices when I moved to another supplier 2 years after leaving and now passed me on to debt collector - even though I provided evidence of payments. Avoid EDF at all cost!
People, read reviews for your suppliers. EDF makes no exception. I have been personally let down by their customer service department, billing department and meter reading department. In my opinion, this company is not worthy of anyone spending their hard earned cash with them. At least they haven’t shown me that their systems can function as advertised, are free from defects, and they fulfil their promises. I will spare you the details, but you can read the rest of the reviews and will get a pretty good idea how other people feel about EDF.
Only called because my metre read didnt generate a bill then told i need a new account, cancel all my previous bills transfer the credit to a new account,. Mislead me to think i had been on a different tarriff and then rebill me for about 14 months on a new tarriff charging me an extra £200 now i dont know how im gonna afford my next bill. It took them 2 days to screw that up; i've spent about 3 weeks now trying to get it fixed, this is just blatant abuse on top of already difficult times.
The worst customer service known to man. Full of lies and false promises.They keep you waiting on the phone with no resolution. The customer service agents have no idea what they're doing. Hopeless beyond belief. Totally ripping us off as customers. Never known anything like this in my life.
Impossible to contact by phone. Ridiculous waiting times and rude staff probably because they’re so underpaid. The smart meter just doesn’t work and never has. Given EDF’s record profits, it’s astonishing that EDF continued to deprioritise the experience of their customers. Shame on you, EDF - you really are tremendously awful.
Abysmal customer service and complaint resolution process. I have been with EDF since late 2021 and my problem is still not resolved. They never contact you, they need to be chased constantly for anything to happen. Avoid this company and go elsewhere.
Unfortunately our energy provider was bought out by these charlatans. Customer service is disgraceful. Cheap headsets prevent any audible conversation. Ask a question the call handler does not have on their script, my experience is they have hung up on me numerous times. Website takes forever for meter readings to be deducted from credit balance. Balance in credit and they demand a higher direct debit payment. The UK imports electricity from France who use coal power. Work that one out !
Illegal practice & tactics, tacking money out of people's accounts with out prior notice. Allcustomers should request an active mandate for the last 10 year's. This cost them money & time.
