First time for everything...... had been warned how difficult this course is with tales of balls running sideways from fairways. However, reality was quite different. Yes, it is hilly, lots of up and down, and angled fairways, but actually fun and challenging. Only a slight breeze on the day which is quite different than normal, so I'm told. Hospitality cannot be faulted, great food served and club members friendly and ready to share their experiences and course with visitors.
Maggie and I recently attended Chris and Daisy's wedding at this venue We thoroughly enjoyed the day and we were very impressed with the facilities,organisation and the hard working staff. The food was excellent to compliment the magnificent views. Thank you to the brave men of Arnhem for being present and for the glider tour which gave a real insight into their bravery which must never be forgotten. Chris and Maggie
We held the reception after my Dads funeral here. We had a private room with plenty of space and seating. Unintrusive service that respected our privacy yet attentive when needed. Small buffet was extreemly good with containers provided for those who wanted doggy bags, something I'm not usually a fan of but helpful in this case. Would recommend for any function.
Daisy and I had our wedding reception last Friday the 7th, Paul,Nikki,Brad and all the other staff were fantastic!!! Nothing was tooo much for them, Paul the events manager went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect he is a credit to the Dyke golf club Also the view is magnificent would definitely recommend special events to be held here.
Really good course. Unusual in that it starts with two par fives. We were lucky in that we had good golfing weather. Great service.
Tried calling and emailing overall several days for a twilight tee time. We received an email a few days later of a price for £15 for 9 holes. We made the journey to the golf club, informed us we were told the wrong price and the price was infact £30. Thanks for a wasted journey and poor customer service
Was very impressed with this course considering its late December and we have just had a week of rain. Found reasonable lies on both the fairway and in the rough and the greens played as you would expect for this time of year. Be prepared for very difficult conditions if the wind is up, on the 9th I was hitting straight into the wind and hit a driver then 3 wood 300yards usually 450-480ish. Didn't stop at the clubhouse but you could not ask for a better view over the downs. Looking forward to returning here in the summer for a change in conditions and pint in the clubhouse
Course was very dry, greens also hard, dry, very fast but bumby. I didn't enjoy it. The clubhouse was excellent with nice staff and good food which I did enjoy.
Played 9 holes here as a guest. Fantastically maintained course - great design with very well placed bunkers if there is such a thing. Greens were excellent too although it would help the green keeper out if players tended to their own divets. Wonderful views and a superb clubhouse with friendly members. Well worth a visit if you get the opportunity.
Great day atThe Dyke today. Despite the rain over the past few days the fairways were in really good condition. If I had any complaint the greens were a bit bumpy but it did not take away from the experience.I was on a Society day and everything went as planned. The breakfast was excellent and great value. Even the weather was kind to us.
