Situated on a working farm, lovely clean site with EHU with a nice play area for the kids and a small Musium of old farm memorabilia and an inside play area for the kids, although nothing was open when we was there I would think it's a great little place for families and with the right weather. Toilet/shower blocks could do with updating as they are a bit grubby!! But it is a working farm at the end of the day! There is a little cafe and shop on site open at certain times, The owner was great and he couldn't do enough for you, The only thing for us was it's only 10amp on site.
Absolutely fantastic place to check in for all age ranges. The owners and staffs are so friendly and quite knowledgeable about the animals they got which makes the place great. Definitely worth visiting. Love from London!
This is an amazing place, everyone from young to old will really enjoy the day, we camped over the weekend and the staff are so friendly and welcoming always ready to answer questions about the horses or even about the farm the photo is the stunning view that can be seen all around the farm. The toilet and shower were alway lovely can clean. Definitely the place to visit.
Went in our campervan for 2 nights and loved it! Wondered round the farm all day, had takes on the shire horses , horse and cart rides, played crazy golf, nice cafe, laid back and relaxed place, lovely staff. Only campsite I have enjoyed being on in 3 years, it's not pretentious and it's Rough round the edges just my type of place! Unisex showers and toilets.
Great day out. Lovely horses and other farm animals. Intresting museum bit too. Nice nature walk, well priced. Food was great price especially considering the big portions . The animals were well looked after and treated with respect, though atlas the shier horse was by far the best. The gift shop was lovely and great prices too. So overall a lovely day out
Loved it! Stayed for 6 nights camping fab facilities, hot shower and 3 toilets stocked with loo roll hand towels and anti bac cleaner. The horses were amazing! Obviously very loved by the whole family and taken care of. We met bonus the 19 year old shire horse and were shown all the regalia that the horses wear. Beautiful donkies and alpacas and sheep it's just animal heaven! Owners very friendly we met Hugh and Marc who were accommodating and also very good local guides! Definitely will be back the price for camping is more than fair and we had a blast! Go to the cafe too the lads' mum works in there and she makes a rather good panini plus you can try local beer and cider
Laid back no frills, campsite, so didn't feel out of place in our old camper adequate facilities, great imfortative, helpful hosts, friendly staff, nice cafe. Free entry to farm when camping is a bonus and we had a great day meeting the animals and going on the farm ride and horse and cart ride. Lots for children to do including free crazy golf
We loved this campsite. Booked last minute as had a wedding venue to see the following day. Arrived very friendly and set up. The facilities if you have children are fantastic. 2 well kept play parks with a range of facilities, an indoor sand pit, pedal go kart track, mini golf, field and nature trails to explore. The farm is open for you to wander and see the animals donkeys, cows, sheep and llamas. Lots of shire horses beautifully kept and they also do a talk about the history of the shire horses and offer horse and cart rides. We were also given a quad bike ride around the farm. A lovely little cafe that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. They also have an alcohol license, soft play and gift shop. The shop sells essential camping items too such as disposable bbq etc... The owners are really easy to talk too and also live on site so any problems or questions they are on hand. Loved it and have rebooked for bank holiday
Fantastic day out coming from a horsey person we spent nearly all day there, watched and listened to talks on a working harness and carriage harness. Lots of interesting information to learn. Lovely well temperamented horses. Some other animals in the paddocks such as sheep, llamas and donkeys too. Amazing to see the suffolk punch mare who is in foal, fingers crossed for a filly. The carriage ride was the thing that made me smile most, you can certainly feel the power shires have. Small museum section which is lovely. The tack room is stunning, full of the polished and oiled show harnesses plus various other harnesses and tack. Café food was lovely and of great quality. All the staff were super friendly and made you feel very welcome.
Unfortunately there was no electricity the day I visited and the farm was closed, but the owner still gave us a talk about the museum and let us explore. He didn't charge us.
