Been coming here for almost 4 weeks. In that time, I have learned this: - staff are generally awesome. They know me by name, polite, helpful. - I have had a free session with PT (You get 2 free Personal Trainer sessions). There were problems booking the correct time, but when it happened the advice was spot on. - They can give specialised advice. I have long-standing problems on one knee and my L5 (spine). The manager knows how to train people like me and his advice was invaluable. - The equipment is wide-ranging. It's in great condition. Equipment does all the classic stuff of heart rate monitoring, calories used, etc. - There are classes available. I haven't used them yet. some are included in the original fee. - Pool. Small(ish). haven't used yet. - People are very mixed. There's the professional fitness hunters, and there's people like me who are trying to get back into fitness and cut the fat (hoho!) - There is a BUT. But ... there are no bars to hang on. For my own needs of spinal damage on the L5, I need bars on which I can hang upside down. This works a miraculous wonder for fixing the protrusion on my L5, but DW doesn't have this. - Cafe is low price

I could not be happier with my membership. Staff are always very helpful and freindly and the facilities are very good. As a wheelchair user I am able to get about the gym easily. I have a long way to go in terms of my weight and fittness and look forward to continuing to attend. The cafe also serves good coffee at a very reasonable price.

Poor quality equipment, loads of cracked or missing weight plates, bars are awful. Although there is plenty for everyone to use and generous space. The air con never seems to work either which means it's like a complete sweat box. Downstairs of the gym is very dark however upstairs has better lighting. The cleanliness of the gym is horrific! There was green flem doen the side of one squat rack for weeks before it was eventually cleaned! Stair masters are often gross too, probably why they always seems to be out of order. Or because the air con system leaks all over one. Heard a few people reporting it to staff although it is always over looked. Unfortunately it could be a serious accident waiting to happen. One huge observation was the managers are friendly with their staff, probably to friendly as they need to be able to tell them constructively they aren't doing the best job without worrying about offending them especially when it comes the front of house and cleaning staff. Staff turn around is ridiculous, always new faces. However you rarely get a friendly greeting or they have no clue as to what they are doing. Changing rooms and toilet are ok expect it's like a day care centre with all the kids running around from all the swimming class held after school and weekends. The pool area needs a major clean as you can see grim around the pool. Male PT is always more concerned with his phone then clients. He also teaches them horrific squat form . Not the best run gym but it has potential if it strived for higher standards when it comes to cleanliness, equipment and managers managing staff not being their friends.
