Absolute Joke of a GYM. My wife joined and was told that there was a special offer for both herself and myself to use the gym on a monthly rolling contract. After signing up it became apparent that she had not been given the contract she was agreed and that it was in fact for one person but they're now saying she can have a guest pass for 5 sessions. As a result we have attempted to cancel the contract only now to be told it's a 12 month fixed contract despite being told the 12 month is a larger up front payment.  Absolute joke of a company. I get countless phone calls off them telling me to join despite telling them numerous times that I'm not interested.  Pure gym is directly opposite DW and is much cheaper 24h access and in my opinion with the PureGym app and equipment a much better deal.

Came here for years until i relocated to Rochdale. Always enjoyed coming to this gym. The PT's seem knowledgeable, the staff seem friendly enough. The gym itself is good. Up to date equipment and a good free weights area. The jacuzzi and the steam room was always a big plus for me so i enjoyed using those facilities to. Only reason this gym gets 4 starts instead of 5 is because the lockers in the changing rooms have been broken for years and ontop of that the toilets beed to be kept better care of. Apart from that i enjoyed my time here. Good gym

This gym used to have some great equipment, they still theoretically have a good seated calf raise machine, a decent hamstring machine and a hammer strength low row....however the calf machine sits for months at a time broken....general maintenance of the equipment is ridiculously poor. Staff are nice, they're the only redeeming feature besides the bumper plates and drop zone although the smaller 5kg and 10kg plates are buckled. No swimming trunk drier standard for all non-DW gyms with a pool, I've found. Changing rooms ok, parking available although lots of people have to deal with a company that tries to fine them, even when they put their registration number in the machine. Disco lights in the gym and funfair mirrors make it difficult to observe your own form while lifting, bad enough that I normally face the other away and just trust my form. There are a handful of members who would've been banned from other gyms, including a schizophrenic man who hangs around the steam room telling everyone about how he's a vampire with special teeth and that he's recording them on his watch, because he's also an undercover police officer....lots of people complain about these characters making them feel uncomfortable DW is unwilling to ban them although I can't say I'm personally bothered by them.

Signed up last week. Not long enough to write a review but anyone saying staff are miserable, I don't get that at all!!!! Want to give a special mention to Claire the manager at Bury. She has been brilliant since moment I joined. She took alot of time to show me around the gym on an induction and she has really good knowledge which has helped me  serious back conditions and recently recovering from a spinal fusion get back in the gym confident to get myself fit again. I had a PT session with her yesterday and she was absolutely amazing. Can't thank her enough for giving me confidence and positivity. All the other staff I've spoken to have also been really nice, friendly and helpful. Don't understand any of the bad reviews about the actual gym.

Been using DW for a few months now. So felt it time to do a review. It's a much better gym than the others in Bury. The staff are quite friendly and the pool area is really the main reason I go. Few guns in Bury have a pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The users are pretty friendly. After long deliberation and trials of other gyms. I settled on DW. The gym area is quite reasonable and not too crowded.

Avoid, awful experience with this gym, i was unable to use the facilities due to a medical issue but was unable to provide the SPECIFIC proof they asked for until a few weeks down the line when i had an official diagnosis which can take a while in the NHS, then after i got the proof they refused to refund me for the money they charged me for even though they stated they would refund it, they also charged me for a month even after i freezed my membership due to medical reasons. Also cancelled my other halves membership and she had to pay another month on top because she didn't give a months notice on a 12 month contract...why do we have to give notice!?!? we never asked for the contract to go beyond 12 months..the gym will do whatever they can to rinse you and the you have to sign up to expensive deals or long contracts, the gym is not even that good, very unwelcoming place especially if you are a woman, AVOID

I have had problems with this company over contracts. Anybody signing up to a contract with the DW sports GYM they have a ' rolling contract that they continue after you contract term has finished. They do not tell you apparently in it is in the contract that they do not email to you, . After the 12 month contract has finished you have to go in the gym and cancel or contact customer care apparently to release you from the ' rolling contract' They have to have a months notice.Ridiculous, bigger the company the greedier they get!!! Be Aware  People The gym itself is OK but  .the jacuzzi, constantly broke , they take a long time to get things fixed I am taliking weeks, for a big company you think the service would be better. I have only been one 1 occasion both Jacuzzis worked, one of the main thing that attracted me to the gym. I could have joined a cheaper one if I wanted no frills, you live and learn.

I've been a member at DW for 5 years. It's a great gym and great facilities. Built some great friendships with the colleagues a long the way which is a bonus! Shout out to Greg for always been an absolute STAR!  Always going completely above and beyond for his members.

I highly recommend this gym, it has all the facilities I need, from the gym to the pool area. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and treat you like a friend rather than a customer. Also really happy with the new Starbucks machine as it makes really good coffee! You get what you pay for!

This is a good clean gym. Staff are friendly and always willing to provide advice.  The changing rooms / shower area / steam room etc are well maintained.  Yes the price may be a little higher than others ....but you get a good clean gym.
