This is a small but pleasant testing center, located about a 15-minute walk from Elephant and Castle underground station. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. They provide small lockers for personal belongings, so it's best to avoid bringing large backpacks or similar items. A jacket and a small bag should fit comfortably in the lockers. My results were printed on-site by a staff member, and the whole process was very quick. However, I imagine the experience might vary depending on the time of day. If possible, it's better to visit during regular working hours for a smoother experience.
Zero complaints! I took my theory test at this centre in February. I arrived quite early so had to wait in the stairwell for a bit but it gave me time to relax and calm my nerves. The lockers are very small so only bring your essentials - don't forget to check all your pockets or you'll have to go back out and restart the checks when you go into the test room as I did....nI was one of the first ones in and therefore also one of the first to be called up for my test. Didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes maybe. The lady who did my checks when I entered the test room could tell I was nervous and was really kind to me. During the test, it can be ever so slightly distracting when more people enter the room and sit next to you, and you can sometimes hear the audio from their headphones as well. But if you're well prepared, the test isn't difficult.nAfter the test I didn't have to wait long at all for my results, pretty much as soon as I sat down to wait, my name was already called and my results printed for me. Picked up my stuff and left - the whole thing took 45 minutes. Get there early and you'll be out in good time!
I’ve been working in this area for 5 years, and every single day, 4-5 people stop me during my break to ask where the driving test center is. Most of them stop near Savers, on the opposite side of the road, because it’s so unclear where the center is located. It’s obvious that everyone heading to the test knows how to get to that spot, as that’s where they all stop, but they don’t know where to go next.nnIf it’s still this hard to find after all this time, it’s clear something needs to change. A big sign or visible advertisement on the high street would make a huge difference. I don’t intend to cause harm with this review; I just want to help improve the situation, so people can find the address quickly and avoid unnecessary stress.nnI hope this feedback will lead to a change. If nothing changes in the next few months, I’ll be back with another review. Best of luck, and I hope this helps everyone!
Had the theory text here. Unfortunately twice.nnThe test center is easy enough to find.nnSometimes, when busy, they do not open the door downstairs when you buzz up, so have to try a few times.nnOn entry you need to empty everything out of your pockets and place all items into a locker. If you are coming during peak times, expect a wait, as need people to finish, get their results and empty a locker so the next person can proceed.nnThen you wait to register and wait to enter the test room. Again, when busy, expect to wait 10-15 minutes from time you come to time you actually enter the test room as capacity is limited by the lockers and computers.nnTIP: come in early afternoon for no queues and no wait times.nnThe staff are actually OK, some people in reviews are complaining etc, but its a very difficult job to do, as people just don't listen to you, it's frustrating. The instructions are very simple, just follow them and your and their day will not be ruined by unnecessary attitude.nnOnce inside, the separation between desks is minimal, as if you push out away from the screen you will be distracted easily by people sitting next to you and their movement.nnThe chairs are horrible, very motivated to finish the test ASAP to stop the back ache.nnPeople taking the test are generally concentrating and quiet, you just hear the mouse clicking.nnBut the sound from outside the test room can sometimes be heard and is very annoying.nnIt would be a great idea to improve the sound insulation.nnTest itself is OK, just follow the official app and practice. I was able to do 8 clicks on the hazard perception, it failed for me on 9 or 10 clicks on 1 clip.
Started off well with staff being kind and respectful and got me in quick.nnHowever, when I finished my test, my results didn’t print. No one gave me clear indication of what to do next. I sat there waiting and different staff came to give it a look then gave up and left.nnI was told by one person to call a number, in which I was handed a card with no number on it.nnAnother staff member told me I would get my results in the post but doesn’t know when.nnNo one was able to help, so now I’ve had to go home, having paid for a test, but not having received my results.
