We were staying in Congleton between Christmas and New Year and was looking for somewhere to have lunch and a drink with our 2 daughters and 2 dogs. We asked if we could come in with the dogs and were shown to the dog friendly area which was so lovely. Really cosy and comfortable. The atmosphere at this place is really warm and welcoming and the food was amazing!!! I had the beef sandwich which was one of the best sandwiches I'd ever eaten. My husband had the chilli nachos and they were equally as good. Really generous portions too for the price! The girls wanted sides and cheesy chips which they ate every bit of! The service was brilliant and everyone including the other customers were very friendly and chatty. Gutted we don't live closer as I would definitely be a regular customer!
Quirky little old style building, friendly, welcoming staff and the food was gorgeous ! I'm not one for taking photos of my food but I can assure you the presentation and taste of the food could not be faulted. I was stuffed. I even ate the fruit and berries on the dessert used for decoration. There's a huge range of different cocktails however I didn't get the chance to try any as i had my baby with me but lots to choose from for people wanting alcohol.
Always have a pleasant time in DV8. The atmosphere is nice but always very busy so can struggle to find space to enjoy a drink! The drinks are nice, some are very sweet of you don't have a sweet tooth just to be warned! The food is nice and the service is good on the whole. A bit expensive for what it is which is the only downside, but fairly average for the town.
Great place, recently renovated knocking through to what was an old shop, which I think is more the bar area, rather than food. The food is amazing, great portions and a great range to accommodate food preferences. Staff are always really friendly and very on top of things, don't leave you waiting long. Lovely to sit outside under the heaters and give you snuggly blankets. Definitely would recommend.
Impromptu meal out in an unfamiliar town. Very busy, staff were friendly and very attentive. Food was very good; We had light bite/snack which was plenty. Lovely chunky chips and the salad was just right room temperature not fridge cold. Chicken wrap had loads of chicken in it.
We had the private room upstairs in the new building - it was excellently decorated as all Dv8 is and the staff were attentive, polite and offered excellent service. Not the best venue for those of us over 6ft tall I've not given 5-star as there was some confusion about a group and the payments for the buffet and drinks. Otherwise fantastic, will definitely go back.
4 of us including 3 year old. I had gammon eggs chips. Sounds standard boring but it was great. Best gammon chips had for a long time. Think nice thick gammon, 2 eggs, nice mushroom and tomato, pineapple was like a big chip. Good chips. Other two had wraps that were good but not as good as mine. Took me twice as long to eat. Maybe not a big choice for kids. Can be finicky. Grandson had hummus which was plentiful. Interesting selection of ales. I had an ipa which grew on me after 2 Service was slow due to a big party in. Staff were nice and helpful. An interesting place. Will go again. Price reasonable vs. all prices going up everywhere.

The food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly and they go that extra mile to make you feel welcome. I visited yesterday for lunch and it was my birthday and they went out and bought me a birthday card and I was extremely touched by the gesture it was very kind of them and it made my day.
I've never been overly impressed with either of the dv8's I've been to. The food is average at best and the beer range is very limited. It's pretty pricey for what you get. On the plus though, the service from the staff has always been excellent.
