Myself and my fiancee stayed here recently for my birthday. This is our third visit! I was treated to a wonderful Gold Spa Package at the R&R Spa which I highly recommend. The therapists in the spa are highly skilled and so friendly and attentive. The spa package included Lunch and Devon Cream Tea. After a relaxing time in the Spa, we went to our room (we always go for a Romantic Jacuzzi Room) The room was modern, clean, and the spa bath was fantastic! The service in the restaurant is on point, we had a lovely dinner and the waitress was so kind, she brought out dessert with a candle and sang me Happy Birthday! All the staff are so accommodating and friendly, they all work long hard hours yet still nothing is too much trouble. Nice surrounding area - Appledore and Westward Ho! have some nice views, places to eat and vintage arcades We will definitely be back again for more pampering and relaxing times!

Quite difficult for me to star rate this coach break I had at Durrant House Hotel.  Big old place, very hot small room without a view.... except of an ugly wall.  The staff made it to my  mind, they were happy and friendly, also were working in every aspect. Pro's and con's,  needs a little bit of work on the building.   First breakfast wasn't really hot but otherwise good food. Bus stop right outside hotel, so convenient to get to places. Large car park. Outside pool area unkempt and not inviting. Disabled friendly with ramps etc.

Stayed 4 nights on a dance holiday. Food was mediocre but edible. Coffee was lousy. Stayed here two years ago and told them that we enjoyed our stay apart from the lousy coffee. Clearly, they haven't improved it.
There were 87 in our group and there was just one person behind the bar serving pre-dinner drinks. The queue time was 25 minutes. The staff tried hard but it was bad management.
Rooms were not cleaned properly and mattress was really uncomfortable.
Dance floor was a good size but old and uneven and held together in places with gaffer tape!
We won't be returning any time soon.

Booked a twin room for our annual reunion which takes place at the beginning of March every year. This year due to the severe weather many of us were unable to attend due the dangerous road conditions and advice from the police not to travel unless absolutely necessary. The roads didn't  clear of snow and ice sufficiently until the third day of our 4 day stay. Despite giving the hotel daily updates of our predicament and our eventual cancellation we have subsequently been told that we would not be entitled to any form of refund on our booking. Perhaps in future the hotel would prefer all guests to ignore all police advise and travel to the hotel, hoping that they do actually arrive in one piece. Lesson learned, Don't book again.

Staff polite,food over priced but edible. Had a small problem but Debbie sorted it quickly & professionally. Can't praise her enough. Cleanliness of room not good, dust on lamp stand, sugar sachets on drink facilities in room stuck to tray because tray is dirty.
