We were welcomed with direction to where we would be sitting and a waiter ordered our drinks. The creM tea was generous. If anything...the bread was a little on the thick side..hence you're full up before you get to the goodies. The place is clean and spacious. We weren't cramped...in a group of 27. We will go back. Food & drinks: Excellent
Disappointing afternoon tea... A beautiful building and surroundings to visit but that's as good as it gets. The sandwich and cake selection for the afternoon tea was sadly lacking for the cost. Tea and coffee was unlimited but not great quality. Our server was polite and friendly, unfortunately the overall service was very slow and limited. Such a pity... Food & drinks: I'd suggest not to ask for butter to go with the scone...we were served margarine!
Good staff .We are still trying to work out why the door handles were put on back to front . Hopefully they will upgrade the towels in the very near future. And supply a soap dish in the future . The room was fine and afternoon tea was very nice . Will we return possibly.
Kept up all night by next rooms loud TV. No answer to any phone calls to reception, no-one around to help. Would not recommend or stay here again. Poor service. **update** I found the night porter and he kindly put me in a new room. Not the stay I was expecting, having to move rooms at 0030 but at least I could then sleep. Toast and cereal for breakfast was fine Noteworthy details: No answer from reception or any hotel phone numbers. Loud and noisy
Disappointing trip. Very overpriced for what you get. Dry sandwiches and cakes were not great. Scones tasted like supermarket scones. 100 pound for a few sandwiches and cheap cakes for 4 people. Have had much better for the same price. Could say more about the service being disappointing but won’t as we all make mistakes.
Had a family meal here on fathers day. Despite it being very busy with a number of large groups service was prompt and timely, with the staff attentive and friendly. The food was very good with decent sized portions and also a decent break between portions. We had a set 3 course meal that was very well priced. The venue itself is an interesting old building that is full of character. Recommended!
Very nice place, good rooms, friendly staff, good parking. Classic rooms en suite well appointed, warm no fan if too hot, bottled still water very nice, tea coffee etc facilities, hair dryer. Shampoo and shower gel, no soap bar. Good supply of towels. Noise from guests in the hallway can be heard easily if you retire early... Evening meal there is a "Harleys smokehouse" 20 meters across the driveway serving from 1200 noon till late. Breakfast is inside the hotel, very good, freshly made, good pork sausage, local thick cut bacon, fresh cooked tomato, mushroom, beans, egg, hash and Black pudding.... Toast, thick cut bread well toasted, real butter, fresh orange, cereals and fruit... Would stay again as staff very friendly Free guest wifi
Absolutely amazing! If you want a retreat away from everything but in easy driving distance of Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay, Dunsley Hall is perfect. The staff are so friendly, helpful and professional. There is a relaxed atmosphere here, you unwind as soon as you arrive. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean with all the facilities you need. The breakfast was fantastic with a service to match. A massive thank you to all the staff We'll be back!!!
