Used to be a volunteer in the 80s to early nineties. Not been back due to illness until we took my sister in law and her husband in November last year. I was proud to see the advances the team has made. More planes, engines, dioramas, better room to display. Mr Davy Reid and the team have certainly made something for everyone now. We went back to visit in November, and was talking to my sister in laws husband about some of the exhibits I knew about, and another visitor asked if I was a member , as I could give information on some of the items. I was taken back many years by that, and have now become a member and am hoping to spend more time there. Big boys toys with a difference, mature boys and girls, small boys, or small girls, all can get something out of a visit. Touch, listen, and learn, about history, and aviation. Definitely worth a visit (and 5 stars).

What an absolutely fantastic place, it is amazing seeing all the planes and all the information they have is amazing. You could really spend a good while here going through all information. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent aviation museum, you can got up close to the exhibits, very informal atmosphere, it's not big, but very interesting, worth a visit if you're in the area.

Definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in aviation history, or even simply military history. The place is a proper 'old school' museum, with plenty to see and a real sense of history around every corner, and in every room. It makes a lovely change from the overly sterile environments of modern museums, and the staff are absolutely incredible. Real enthusiasts who know their stuff, and will be more than happy to help you out with anything. Their restoration of the Loch Doon Spitfire is remarkable, and worth the very reasonable entry fee alone. It's nice to hear of plans to expand and freshen things up, and I trust that this will be done without losing any of the sites' charm. Cannot recommend enough.

The Museum is run by volunteers and houses a large and ever expanding aircraft collection, aero engines and a very impressive display of artefacts and personal histories relating to aviation, past and present. Both civil and military are represented. There is also a small, but ever expanding collection of memorabilia honouring airborne forces, a new display representing aviation in Scotland and a mock up of a WWII living room are now complete.
