Great atmosphere, great service, great pub food, plus a great playground area for the kids. A regular favourite for me and my children. They love the play area and toys, and there’s a small contained area for toddlers to play in. The garden is big with plenty of seating. And interesting tree decorations. Also you might spot a donkey or Rhea in the field next door. Sunday carvery is definitely worth visiting for. The main menu is good pub food at reasonable prices. Good kids selection too. Staff are great, very friendly. It always feels like we are welcomed as friends here.
Lovely old pub with plenty of character. Large garden, with kids facilities. Large car park too. The food was lovely, hot and good sized portions. Service was good and staff very friendly. Will visit it again when in the area. The only negative I found was the Men's toilets had no soap or hand towels in there, although there was an electric hot air drier.
Lovely 'local' with a huge garden full of tables, perfect for warm summer evenings. Also good space inside with friendly service and nice food.
Been a visitor to the Dumb Bell for the last 25 years. It is a traditional pub serving classic pub food, a good selection of drinks, welcoming log fires in the winter and sport on all year round. Bar staff are always friendly and welcoming and we can even take our dog in after a walk over the fields.
Great food and customer service. Lady behind the bar was fantastic. Nachos were some of the best I’ve ever had. Thank you for such a brilliant experience and customer service.
Randomly passing had no idea where I was and noticed it had a log fire, pulled up had 3 days of fantastic home cooked food, best Guinness I've had since in Ireland, felt very welcomed by a great landlord, his lovely staff and the regulars, been telling everyone at work to pay a visit, can't wait till I'm back down here, will be my first stop off It's a cracking pub
Yea good pub.not had food here though so cant comment on that.parking isnt too bad depending when you go obvs.summer time can get packed out but like any pub i guess
Charming little country pub on a quiet lane. We only stayed for a couple of cold pints as we were on a long walk down to the Colne Valley from Chorleywood. But we really liked the ambience of the pub and the friendly staff so we plan to return again soon.
Good time with grandchildren, eating in the large garden with lots for the kids to do. Varied menu and the food was very enjoyable, well presented and tasty. Some excellent fish dishes on the menu as well as more standard pub food. Veggie options and kids menu. Recommended.
This venue has so much potential. However, the team don't seem to realise this! I found the staff do the minimum in customer service. The whole place looks tired and messy - the garden area has old furniture dumped everywhere and inside has no atmosphere at all. Clearly the regulars don't care as they seemed quite content. So why should the people running this dump care either? Huge disappointment.
