I was not disappointed on my first visit here. Although there were some cons, the experience on a whole was incredible. It was very busy during my visit, which may have contributed to some cons. Pros: Staff are on the high-end. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where the staff is this friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is top quality. It's stylish, colourful, and lively. Seems like a far cry from the rest of Southgate. The food is, simply put, phenomenal. It is well-presented, well-cooked, and so flavourful. The creme brulee stood out the most to me as the one of the very best desserts I've ever had eating out. They're open until late! This is quite rare to see of a restaurant in the area and a very welcome characteristic. Some nights even have live music, although I did not have the pleasure of experiencing that. Cons: All this quality does come at a steep price. Be prepared to really spend in this place. And the biggest con: it took exactly an hour from the time we sat down to the time we got our mains served. It even took roughly 30 minutes to serve the starter, which was simply bread, salad, and a bowl of hummus. Conclusion: This is a restaurant worthy of a stylish and incredible night out. I highly recommend it. The staff, food, and atmosphere more than made up for the slow service during that busy night. I will return for many more times.
Very few places in Drogheda know who they are but not Duende! It knows who it is and it does it very well. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff and they know how to treat customers. I fully recommend this place for a fun night out with a group for that food, drink and atmosphere. For a town of c. 41,000 people that's populated with over priced chippers with fancy furniture, Drogheda is starved of recommendable places to eat. So a place this good is badly needed. Top spot! :- You're very welcome Amy!
I love this place, fantastic food and very friendly service. Especially their hamburgers and chickens wings are super delicious.
Lovely meal on Saturday with friends. Place was hopping and quite packed so we asked for a table outside even though it was raining there was plenty of cover. Food top notch. Pizza a little salty but that was the only complaint. Such lovely staff..nothing too much trouble. Michelle was one of the staff members names but to be honest they were all as good as each other. To the owner, treasure them they are amazing. Will be back.
Apart from the food being excellent, the staff are incredible, always a pleasure to go to Duende!!! The only restaurant I can say I've gone back multiple times and the staff have been constantly amazing!!! Thank you for the incredible service and making us feel so welcome!! highly recommend this restaurant!! You will go home happy.
Love this little gem! Our latest visit was last minute and the restaurant was full but staff were so accommodating and found us a table in a heated outdoor area. From the friendly staff to the delicious grub we were very happy leaving!! Highly recommend this place for food or a place to just meet friends for a couple of pints, the atmosphere is spot on.

Beautiful place with really nice food. Staff were kind and let us in without a reservation on a Saturday night. Dress nicely and book in before you come down.
Considering the quality of food, the atmosphere and the friendly staff, if you add the great location and plenty of car parking, Duende can only be rated 5*! The lovely smell of food when you pass by is so inviting! Food: 5/5
