Lovely little pub inn with outdoor eating area that also has climbing frames for children. Food is nice and staff friendly.
I have been here on a few occasions and thoroughly enjoyed my meals. The traditional pub with all its lovely features, makes eating there seem alot more cosy. Brilliant guest service. The only thing that might disappoint is the lack of vegetarian/vegan options.
A cosy traditional pub with great homemade food and friendly service. We had lamb shank and steak and ale pie, both of which were delicious. Go for the seats by the roaring open fire if free. An enjoyable evening.
Sunday Lunch 23rd July for my Son's Birthday. Lovely Country Pub. Food was served hot and fresh to order. Would recommend, though slightly more expensive than perhaps a local carvery pub. It was more personalised. Barbara
New owners since January. Nick and the team went out of their way to make our visit great. Loved the roasts, Pork was especially good, cheesy ships were amazing! On to desert and tye revisit which is definitely on the cards!
Nice location and the pub itself was well maintained. The food was disappointing and bog-standard with very little in the way of 'modern pub fare'. In particular, the 'white chocolate and raspberry' cheesecake desert was actually a white chocolate cheesecake with cheap raspberry sauce over the top which tasted identical to the 'Treat' brand you can find in Tesco - is it too much to make a fresh sauce in the kitchen?
Lovely Family Pub, had as our wedding venue and a great time was had by all. Nice to know some decent English Pubs like the Duck are still around. Food was great and lots of it. Very reasonably priced too.
Small menu but the food was really good. Was quite quiet considering it was a Friday but the food came out piping hot and service was quick. Cosy country pub atmosphere just want you want as the nights draw in.
Very poor Sunday lunch starter was okay but roast beef dinner was awful. Roast potatoes was hard and not cooked and had to send veg back as looked like came from someone elses leftovers. Had been several times before and had an enjoyable meal but sub sub standard this time and no excuse as not a very busy restaurant. Got offered free desert.
Waitress was so helpful. Children's meals over priced. £4.50 for a scoop of ice cream bit excessive of a child. Maybe we just chose the wrong day. As manager said they had a new chef.
