This is a lovely park with something for everyone. The lake is fabulous with people paddle boarding & kayaking, lots of water fowl & birds in and out of the rushes. There is a good path for wheelchairs, prams and bicycles. As you enter the park at the main entrance there is a play area for children, toilets and a café. A short walk away is the magnificent beach. We visited on a lovely warm day and want to return with our bikes as there was a lot of the park we didn't see as we had our elderly dog with us. Highly recommend visiting this park.
I love this place. There is so much to do. On our most recent visit we swam in the sea, relaxed on the beach, went blackberry picking, had a picnic next to the visitor centre, walked around the lake and played in the trees. It's a wonderful place and we can happily spend full days here whenever we visit. Playground: Good, dog free, playground with accessible options and suitable for toddlers to tweens Restrooms: Good toilets with hot water and soap. There is also a shower in both the ladies and the gents. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly. Only the play area is dog free. Picnic area: If you are bringing your own picnic there are hundreds of pleasant spots to enjoy. It was a bit wet on our last visit so we used one of the picnic benches, which are larger than the usual benches. We also got hot drinks from the visitor centre cafe. Note: no barbecues are allowed.
Absolutely amazing day we had. We walked a total of 11 miles from Drurbridge Bay to Amble and back. Scenery was beautiful. Just moved back here from living overseas for 33 years and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming out here more often. This outdoor girl is happy.
Brilliant hidden gem. We walked round which we all enjoyed went over the stepping stones. Then we visited the cafe good selection at decent prices. The play park is fantastic too. There was only one toilet open and it was pretty disgusting that we didn't use it and went elsewhere on our way home
Lovely place. A small, but beautiful lake which is great for water based sports. You can get around the lake if you're into walking, cycling and jogging. Plenty of parking, but you need to arrive early on holiday weekends. A short walk to the beach.... plenty of picnic stopping opportunities. There is a small camp site. Beautiful place.
Lovely scenic park with a large lake that will take the average person about 60-90 mins to walk around. Modernised visitor centre with a large cafe serving hot & cold food and drink, lots of toilets, outdoor picnic area and a large playarea. Fantastic views. Perfect for a family day out or a short walk. Dog friendly in the cafe and the nearby beach allows dogs all year, but on leads.
First time visit for me to Druridge Bay Country Park, definitely won't be my last. What a beautiful place, it was easy to park with several carparks. The walk around the Lake was relatively flat & so picturesque, lots of Birds on the Lake & around the area. There are also Watersports on the Lake & a Coffee shop with Toilets at one end of the Lake if you want to rest your legs & enjoy refreshments & take in the lovely views
The country park is a great place to visit. There are plenty of parking spaces with your first hour free and good bus connections if you prefer public transport. The country park is kept in a good state but some trails are closed due to storm damage. The large lake is also used for water sports. Small boats like kayaks can be hired from the café area in the summer. Restrooms: The toilets were nice and clean Picnic area: There were many benches around the park but there is also a dedication picnic area near the café.
It's lovely! Lake with a good cinder path round it 30-40 mins walk, cafe, toilets, good kids play area, grass, huge empty sandy beach/seaside. Free parking for the firsy hour then 1.60 for another hour.
Good hard surface vehicle parking... then walk through ateas of the nature reserve following a selection of pathways and different routes around lakes, through woodland, sand dunes etc. Beautiful stretch of beach, dog friendly, natural area.
