Stayed here for a night, and it was a very pleasant experience. The man that checked me in, served me in the bar, and think did it all, was a very helpful and friendly gent. Was a nice welcome to the hotel. The hotel itself is very grand looking, with lovely interior and a great bar downstairs. Maybe a little bit of TLC and this hotel would be top class. The room was great for the price. The only down point was that the bathroom was not great in my room. Basically the shower head didn't work, and just pour water out on my head like a hose and the shower screen didn't stop the water from flooding the floor. I still gave 4* as the hotel is perfectly situated in town for what I needed.
Stayed here for one night , it’s the worst Hotel we have ever stayed in, after a long drive , there was no food or drink we had to go out and find some where to eat , the room was freezing cold the radiator was only lukewarm the bathroom if you can call it that was freezing no heating at all we couldn’t shower the shower curtain was full of black with mould , couldn’t wait to get out of there . Walkability: You have to walk to find a food shop as the hotel didn’t do food or drink
Very tired and dated . On the plus side, the room was clean and fresh towels were provided each day. However the room above us has a potentially serious fire risk from a leaking shower into our bathroom ceiling, which obviously has lights and extractor fan, not to mention the obvious stains on the ceiling. If the owners read this, then you need to get your finger out.
The overall experience was bad. The guys that are in the reception are rude and have awful manners. Prior to the check out the guys enter the room without my permission because they rushing to go for lunch. The facilities are old and is a mix of UK and china town ;. During night the service of the bar is poor and is almost impossible to find someone to attend. The building is one of the oldest in town is a shame that is manage by the guys that are terrible at service.
Clean rooms very comfy Leo & Aimee went out of their way to enjoy this hotel. Nothing was never too much for them asked for something and straight away it was there for you. Great Hosts And excellent 2 days there.
Clean, enjoyable, nice view, pet friendly for my dog, convenient for all the local shops. Perfect base for touring Stirling and the Trossachs. I have seen this Hotel for years travelling through Callander to go fishing and always wondered what it was like inside, I wasn’t disappointed. Would highly recommend as the price is very competitive and won’t break the bank.
Amazing piece of history, 200+ year old building, excellent location with beautiful walks on your doorstep. Super comfy bed, warm and welcoming. The staff were amazing! So friendly and caring. Could not complain about anything! Will definitely visit again. Lanie NZRooms: 5/5
Large historical hotel, welcoming staff and well adorned rooms. Seems very quiet, for such a massive building only 2-3 other rooms were occupied in late Feb, presumably due to the lack of guests there is no cooked breakfast available, and the bar is pretty empty. But plenty of other food choices nearby. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, cheerful and cheap in Callander, it'll do.
Rooms are great size...need a bit of updating although very clean.. was a great location right next to all the shops on the main street...rooms had hairdryer towels tea coffee...no water or biscuit which is always a plus...had bath and shower..and TV..was very quiet .staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms: 4/5
The staff are awesome welcoming clean rooms help with places to eat and explore don't serve food anymore hope someday it off street parking. Things to do isn't far but small narrow roads that you have to respect others go fur a weekend in enjoyRooms: 5/5
