My favourite atmospheric bar with jazz music and tasty cocktails. Barmen are professionals and know how to do them in the best way. On the weekends it is realy full! It is hard to find it so I attach the pic of the entrance
Had a great time at Draffens, it’s tucked away down a side street the only give away is an old light and alarm box. It was funny watching some other people banging on a fire door few metres away! Inside it’s perfect the music for the era prohibition! The cocktails are amazing and prices fair seen some reviews and prices are not £18 more like £9 a cocktail! Staff are friendly but and my only but of the night is they need to smile more and engage more! They looked stressed but they are also real alchemists and credit to the craft of cocktail making lots of flair! No where like this so go won’t be disappointed!
My judgment is more than positive. Tastefully decorated bar. Excellent variety and quality of products offered for breakfast and more. Good coffee is always served with a smile and the managers as well as the entire staff are always professional and available for every request. The quality of the croissants which I recommend is excellent.
I always enjoy visiting Draffens, we had our anniversary dinner in Frank's since another restaurant wasn't open despite our booking. The staff were so friendly and even made space for us despite being busy. The lady that served us was very attentive despite the amount of people. The one issue I have with the place is that it seems a little understaffed and it seems to just be one person trying to serve all the tables which seems like a lot for one person. Our waitress never made us feel neglected and provided a great service throughout. I noticed the same staff were serving us downstairs in Draffens too, which further proves they seem quite understaffed. Overall a nice experience just feel bad for the staff.
Hidden wee gem with an expansive & eclectic menu! Great ambience enhanced by friendly staff and appropriate era music. A fine place to splurge on exotic and tasty cocktails.
I stopped in here with family and friends and I think this is one of the coolest bars going. I love the concept its so cool. It had good local beer from 71 brewing. Great bar with great staff
This is an excellent bar. Situated subtly behind a coffee and pasta bar, Draffens’ encompasses all of the mystique and charm of the 1920’s US prohibition period. The bar itself is actually hidden down an alley way, next to some bins. If you didn’t know it was there, you wouldn’t spot it because the entrance is just a fire exit, with no signs. When you go into it, you go downstairs to a basement where there is a cozy and dark cocktail bar. If you ask for a menu, you’ll be asked what that is by a waiter dressed in a 1920’s style outfit, before being handed a clothes catalogue that has the drinks concealed within. The story is that the bar is hidden below a 1920’s department store. The prices themselves are expensive for the area, but the cocktails are delicious. They clearly put a lot of effort into making a good drink, which I really appreciated. I would recommend this place for a fun experience. I would definitely go back!
Draffens Secret Bar. Brilliant cocktails and the staff are amazing. So full of knowledge and love answering any questions or making recommendations on what you like to drink. The cocktails can take a bit of time to make so you may have a while wait before getting served. We went in early and it was quiet so there wasn't an issue with waiting for us. I recommend going when it's quiet. The prices match the establishment so that was fair enough. Beautiful place and great staff which I can't recommend enough for visiting.
Cosy and warm vibes. Very interesting drink menu and exciting cocktails. Quite limited seats so need to get there early.
So sorry but I’ve been a wee bitty let down. Don’t get me wrong. The atmosphere was good. The music was good but for goodness sake!? The price of a cocktail? Ripped right off. I expect to pay over the odds for an experience. But to have to say at upwards of 18.00 for cocktails that come in nothing larger than a fancy Nip tumbler? I expected an experience the likes of DNT Do not tell New York. Where’s the T-pots? Where’s the cream tea? Dull Dull Dull. Where’s the imagination?
