DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS SURGERY! An absolute disaster from the beginning. The receptionist lost our registration forms THREE times with confidential/private medical information, passport and visa information before signing us up. Took over 3 months to do so. Then, to make an appointment, you must get yelled at by the receptionist - told to call back another day bc there are no appointments and you can't book in advance. Appointments apparently book out within five mins of opening each day. They will not send repeat prescriptions through even on request, I was taken off crucial medication I have been on for over 8 years by a doctor who has never met me without reason or explanation. After trying to phone through 42 times in one morning no answer - phone off the hook, I turned up to the surgery visibly distressed and unwell, as a result of being taken off the medication without warning, and I was yelled at by the receptionist in front of other patients after I asked for an appointment in tears and was told to "be patient and call back tomorrow like everyone else has to" and that it's not her problem the doctors chose to do that. I calmly explained I had been trying to call all week without being able to get through and she said "it's just the way it is" and told me to leave. On another occasion, I had an allergic reaction to a new inhaler I was prescribed - was experiencing a chesty cough and shortness of breath and was denied an appointment again. Told to "try again tomorrow". Since then, we have moved surgeries and the new one couldn't be better. This place is just a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Contact made to arrange an appointment.... greeting with a matter of fact attitude by power trip receptionist.... is this an emergency ? After 45 attempts to ring as you want to speak to a doctor in order to get some sort of service .... do you say No and it’s goodbye which what the power trip wants for some reason or say Yes ? Ask for a phone appointment with the doctor so they ring you back at a suitable time .... told by Power Trip all calls have already been booked for the day .... this at 8:57am ?????? Well can they ring me back tomorrow? It’s St Patrick’s day so we are closed !! Also you need to book on the day for a phone call appointment!! The surgery we all appreciate are busy with COVID but does this mean all other medical concerns are not of concern? Is it too much to ask for? Advice :- if someone calls to speak to a Doctor make them at ease.... nicely take their information.... offer guidance ...... remember it’s nice to be nice
Awful practise, I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with the receptionist staff in this gp. Receptionist must have got her doctorate but decided a life on the reception was for her. Mcverry is running this practise into the ground. Refused my wife medical care in the last trimester of a pregnancy and her being t1 diabetic, escalated so far that we had to complain through ombudsman and leave the practise.
Have to agree completely with last review by Graham Goss I have experienced exactly the same impossible to get through to make an apt to see a doctor and when you do receptionist extremely rude. They need to learn some manners and a bit of courtesy!
We have a great service at our surgery from the receptionist nurses doctors they are always there to help friendly always get bs k to you we are so lucky
Always helpful .
What sort of practice is this? The automated message states to ring between 8:00am and 12noon Monday-Friday, yet ringing between these times is impossible to 1 Get through to the receptionist and 2 To get an appointment to see your own GP. I’ve been ringing constantly day in day out to try and get an appointment to see my GP for three weeks, and every time I ring I’m told they’re not working today, or they’ve no appointments available bare in mind this could be at 8:30am in the morning. So, how could all the appointments for one doctor be given away with 30 minutes, and then to be asked to see another doctor and you’re told they’ve no availability either. I understand that there is more seriousness of illnesses out there that people do need an appointment for. But, when you’re suffering for over a year and a half and being sent to get scans, test and everything done and still struggling with it and being out of work due to it and being told if you experience any worsening symptoms to ring back ASAP and I’ll see you again. But, you can never see your GP. It’s totally bizarre and unacceptable that people have to waiting weeks, if not months to even try and get to see your GP. I rang up today looking for an appointment, to be told there’s no appointments available or no phone consultations available and the next available appointment with any doctor is three weeks away, and to see my own GP it’ll be weeks before she has any available pre-bookings available. Totally unacceptable, and I’m at the verge of changing GP’s due to this as I cannot get an appointment or see a GP.
