I queued outside Long Sutton surgery yesterday morning to try to get an appointment with one of the GP's. The young receptionist didn't get her name was very friendly and helpful. I was allocated an appointment with a really nice doctor at 10.30am Dr Torres who was very caring, professional and kind. He referred me to the QE hospital to be seen immediately and sorted the appointment time for me at the hospital. I would like to say thank you for the excellent care given by the surgery. C Connolly!
The Sutton bridge surgery is awful. I hate going there as the staff are so unfriendly. Plus they don't answer the phone. I hung on for 15 minutes and never moved from "the 3rd in the queue". No doubt they'll get angry when I don't turn up for my appointment, but if they won't pick up the phone, how else can I let them know?
Thank you to the reception team for arranging for a GP to see our grandson at short notice today. An appointment was arranged promptly and the doctor who saw him was very attentive and kind. We are very appreciative for his treatment and cannot say how helpful the surgery was.
The worse doctors I’ve ever been to… I’ve rung them a lot and every time I ring at 8am I’m on the phone for 20 minutes minimum last time I was on for 1hr and when it was my turn the phone turned off, the covid rules have changed you should be able to call whenever like before. I am also diabetic and it took them 1 year to get my sugars down a little bit. I had to go to QE diabetic team to get some help to control my diabetics. I also told my doctor I was trying for a baby and they didn’t inform me the medication I was on could kill the baby or harm it. It’s impossible to get appointments and whenever I’ve gone there for paperwork it’s never been ready like they said it would be and my partner got told a clinic had sent a letter to the doctor but apparently they never received it. That has also happened to me with emails and letters. Or the doctor saying he’s sent a email/letter and hasn’t. They need to get their S**t together!
My husband called the surgery to book an appointment as his asthma got worse and his breathing got more difficult. They refused to see him and said that he needed to take covid test before he can step into the surgery even through he had 2 negative tests results recently. Finally we got to the point that he was offered a telephone consultation and he was told that his GP would call him between 9 and 11 am. At 4.30 pm still no call and when we called the surgery back the receptionist said his name was crossed off as he got a call. We checked the phone and no missed call whatsoever. We asked what if someone is on the other line when the GP calls as no precise time was given. The receptionist said everyone receives only once chance ! and if they don’t pick up the phone the appointment is considered to be done! I got shocked by her comment! We demanded to be transferred immediately to a GP and the receptionist said on Wednesdays they only work half day! NHS complaints that they are overloaded and can’t cope but the GPs work half day in the middle of the week and even then they don’t show much care! Extremely furious and disgusted by their attitude and carelessness!
Having recently moved to this surgery from market Deeping I am incredibly impressed. The staff have been so helpful and friendly with everything we've needed. Every time I've needed to speak to reception, dispensary, a GP or nurse HCO they have been amazing and put me at ease immediately. I understand people's frustration with getting an appointment however this Is a problem around the whole of the country and simply not fair to rate this surgery so low. Get the patient access app and you will be able to simply book an appointment via that in less than 30 seconds.
An embarrassment to the community! Would give them no stars if I could. Rude and dismissive staff that lack all compassion at reception! I’ve been without medication for almost two weeks due to self isolating and was told I could no longer have it. I have been a registered patient all my life and recently moved yet to change GP- no local ones can take me on at the moment and was told I could no longer be treated as I didn’t live there. On top of this, I was told it was my fault and I would have to resolve it myself. Husband and I were on the phone most morning to which they said they would rewrite my meds out one last time but I would have to wait extra days for it. Lucky it wasn’t heart meds or anything serious…. Disgusting! Please consider going elsewhere for treatment… you’re just a number!
My 85yr old father tried to make an appt by phone from 8am but diverted until 8.15am. When he got through all appts were taken. He was told the only way to get an appt was to travel to the surgery to stand and wait outside until they opened! He now has now been referred to QE hospital. To say I am angry is an understatement
I really think reception shouldn't be so quick to fob people off when they are busy - which let's face it, that's all the time. Depending on the problem, it can take alot of nerve to phone. And if that initial chance gets missed, they may never get that courage again. It could be a serious problem that they are really worried about and you have completely dismissed them.
I have been trying to get through to reception to make an appointment since 08:25 today, now nearly 09.00 and still keep getting engage tone. This is not the first time either.
