Extremely pleased with the quality of work, they remodelled our kitchen, bathroom, hallway and living room just over their scheduled deadline.
May 2017: I had Downton level my garage and brick up a window in there, they're brilliant!! Very reasonably priced and even had someone come out to check the quality of the work who aren't afraid to get someone back to change something if they're not happy with it!. If we have anything else to do in the future I won't hesitate to call them in to do it. Very happy customer.
One star is too high, avoid! *** Hi Stevie, To clarify my review is not to do with just a quote it is referring to the original job that took 2 weeks to fit a shower that still leaked after your company had tried to re-fit it nearly 3 times and with tiles that looked like they had been put up by a 2 year old. I must give you credit as you did offer to fix the mistakes made by your company for free but you requested the property to be empty for 4 weeks and then wanted to charge me nearly £400 to put dust sheets down on the floor that had already been destroyed by your staff. Would you like me to supply pictures and invoices as evidence? Rebecca
Downton stepped in to really get the work moving quickly on the refurbishment of my house. What could have been a very long wait from insurance company contractors turned out to be a job which started promptly and kept going! Carpets and flooring were supplied which was very convenient for me as I was trying to manage this work from a distance. Very pleased with the work. Thank you Downton
I had asked Downton to quote for urgent repairs due to a leaking water main. Unfortunately they did not turn up for the appointment to quote, i rearranged and had to wait weeks only for for them to not turn up again - There was no feedback the entire time and this has delayed my repairs by a month. I would recommend looking elsewhere until they can resolve their issues
Had some work done last year to fix a roof leak and replace a water damage wall. One year on the corner of the wall is starting to look a bit dodgy and sure enough when it rains the plaster is soaking wet. Shame cos I would give them a 4/5 as the builders were really friendly and got on with the work in a timely manner but now going to have to get another builder in to fix the issue.
An extremely efficient company. Regular contact with me was maintained from the initial call out to the completion of the work. Both plumbers took the initiative when making contact with my neighbours to gain access to carry out the works and did not bother me with the arrangements. Tina contacted me with the latest updates. This was especially important as I live over two hundred miles away from the property. Thank you very much all at Downton. sue whiteing
we were really pleased with the work Downton did and their professionalism in accurately assessing the damp problem we had, carrying out the work to suit our time - frame, and leaving the site tidy and respectable afterwards. Great!
i have never experienced such a bad construction. there were cracks in all of the kitchen. the ventalation was verging on inept. the build was so bad it could not reach basic hygeine levels. this was due to the incompetence of high level staff. downton property are the worst builders you could hope to hire. you would be better of hiring cowboys. this comes from ESRA east sussex recovery alliance a construction nightmare. remember discretion lol. i was a member and a former director of esra and i stand by my review. downton property builders are cowboys and as with all my reviews i will stand by it in a court of law. truth as always will out
Excellent service, very efficient ,very polite ,very reasonably priced. They went out of their way to help in every way and did an excellent job quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend.
