Am long term supporter of Dogs Trust and have just adopted my second dog from them. First one in 2014 from Harefield, this one from Newbury. I love my dogs and the Trust is a fantastic organisation that really cares for the dogs. Tinks, Jack Russell is from Harefield and Scruffy from Newbury!

We have been looking for a family dog for a few months, primarily through dogs trust. We have an 8 year old daughter and a cat so we know it will take a while. But Dogs trust seem to have a policy of never rehoming any dogs with families with primary school aged children. I grew up with dogs and we dog sit for a weekend every month for a friend's lab so the kids are very dog savvy. Despite this every dog they get seems to be assesed as only being suitable for teenages up. A specific example is a collie they had in. Aparently it was incredibly nervous and freaked out if you tried to stroke it. We just met it outside while it was being walked. It was LOVELY. it came running up and we gave it a jolly good fussing, not once did it seem even the slightest bit nervous. If you are looking for a dog with children then don't bother with dogs trust, try somewhere else.

The staff here couldn't be more helpful and their care and attention to the dogs under their care is second to none.   In addition, they don't just look after the dogs, the training they give the dogs is outstanding. The dogs are not just treated as visitors, each dog is treated as if one of their very own.  I was amazed at the level of care and attention being shown at the centre.  All of the staff are a credit to the organisation.
