A charming tea room, with garden, in a the quaint village of Ditchling. The staff dress as Victorian maids and there's a bike rack through the gate on the left of the entrance. I recommend the giant macaroons. Hillary Benn MP signed the order to create the South Downs National Park here.
First time here, even though we come to Ditchling a lot. Fantastic place! Can't believe we've never tried it. They definitely need to shout about their garden a bit more at the front as you wouldn't know it was there. Really great big space with lovely water features and planting. Menu is really extensive, everything you could want. We had great salads and sandwiches plus the cake/dessert selection is some of the best you'll ever find. Lovely, efficient staff too. Will definitely return. Thank you all.
Second time at the Nutmeg Tree lunch and breakfast. Nothing but impressed. Great club sandwich and the variety of breakfast dishes are excellent. Ingredients are first class i.e. 'proper' bacon and tasty sausages. Service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I think we could become regulars!
Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea here. Gorgeous, clean, vintage tea room with vintage music and very friendly staff. Delightful outdoor seating area too. Tables well spaced. They do take away and have gluten-free choices too. Highly recommended!
Best gluten free afternoon tea EVER!! Great service, great food, great cakes
Lovely food. Very attentive staff who never stopped looking after me. Cannot fault the place at all from management, kitchen staff and the fabulously attired young ladies serving. Highly recommend this place. Keep up the good work.
We had the most delicious breakfast quality ingredients apart from tinned mushrooms a real hate for me The ladies where dressed in 30-40”s attire! The food came hot and quickly! Very dog friendly! Vegetarian options: To many to say! Kid-friendliness: They accept children Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free and vegan
Very nice cafe with good seating , good food and very reasonably priced , highly recommendFood: 5/5
Lovely cream tea served with old fashioned courtesy in peaceful surroundings.Food: 5/5
Overall very nice, pretty pricey for the experience. but polite efficient staff and beautiful garden balances that Surprised to see them all in visors rather than masks however, as all places I've been to recently have realised that visors do not protect their visitors effectively. Also, we had to come up and pay inside, that isn't advised by current rules for obvious reasons. Payment should have been taken at the table. They need to look at their Covid practices in more depth so customers feel secure.
