An incredibly peaceful environment, I could have easily spent hours there however I only stumbled across this garden 40 minutes before it closed. I left there feeling at peace while also considerably more knowledgeable on our planet’s plants and their uses. I also purchased a traditional plant medicine for my hay fever which I’m excited to try out. I’ll be back as soon as I can, and will be recommending it to all of my friends.
What a delightful place. We met Elaine one of the original founders. We surrendered into the healing magical space with all our senses. Uplifting, rejuvenating, and peaceful. We picked up some herbal remedies and the book Grow Your Own Physic Garden Some parts are a bit shabby… overlook them and connect with the plants and rich energy of this place and allow it to touch your heart and soul. Highly recommended
An absolute gem. Beautiful, quirky, informative - I can't remember when I last enjoyed a garden visit so much, and I went away with my head buzzing with ideas for my own garden. The staff were lovely too: I mentioned that I'd been hoping to find a horse-radish root on the plant stall, but there wasn't one - so they dug one up for me!
Enchanting medicinal garden. Just mind blowing how plants can heal , so informative, a joy to wonder and learn . Informal Tranquil environment . A charity worth supporting for all the good it brings to alternative medicine with a wealth of medicinal ingredients which bring relief to many ailments. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Garden room shop selling all plant related products.
Magical place. Really enjoyed our first visit, as did the kids, spent two hours there just enjoying the gardens and came away feeling really peaceful despite being there with little children! Looking forward to visiting again and hopefully attending some courses.
Having seen the video clip about the garden at the Baltic in Newcastle, the state of the garden was a disappointment. The plants needed some attention and there were far too many rusting and plastic ornaments throughout the garden which I felt detracted from the serious nature of the benefits of homeopathy.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
What a gem, in a beautiful setting! Warm welcome, friendly staff, fabulous garden design/planting/information/sales. Visiting this garden is GUARANTEED to make you feel better, whether you purchase any items or not. I especially enjoyed banging those gongs! I can't wait to return, to share this magical experience with friends. AND IT'S ON A BUS ROUTE, so accessible by public transport.
The whole place was a complete mess. I am all for rewilding but this is ridiculous, completely smothered in weeds, no upkeep whatsoever. A real disappointment for a place which if properly managed could have been spectacular
Absolutely gorgeous place! Lots to learn and very inspiring to start my own garden some day.
Always love visiting the Physic Garden. A special, beautiful, sacred space full of knowledge, history and magic.
