Small station staff were not very helpful when it came to asking to pop outside the station for five minutes, then when trying to return got demanded to purchase another ticket as apparently they became invalid when we left the station, never had this problem before after explaining what the situation way we eventually got let through but had to still buy another ticket even though we just spent £187 on two tickets.

Rail fares go up faster than wages but the service remains the same. Delays and cancellations are common and the ticketing system/pricing is designed to get as much money from each customer as possible, as you have no other choice a lot of the time. FGW are a poor excuse for a train service and they have been like this since I first started using them over 10 years ago. If you use them regularly, they will cause you nothing but stress.

It’s not a bad train station with all the modern facilities you’d expect. Reasonable small so easy to get around. Chances are your waiting here for a transfer, so the indoor seating areas are a bonus and it’s not too hard to nip outside for a cigarette while you wait.

Grew up in Didcot and over the years it’s developed massively. Friendly staff and good events for the kids (especially the Thomas the tank engine stuff) a decent place to use and visit.

Had a fantastic trip in The Flying Scotsman. What a wonderful treat! Lovely staff and treated like royalty.
