I cannot speak more highly of the team at Devonia!! Thank you very much for making my first venture into tanning deer skins so interesting and successful. Nothing was too much trouble, great advice and communications and they went out of their way to make sure that I was happy with the end result. They will hopefully be getting a lot more business from me - dependant on my stalking abilities!! I would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone looking for a tanning service.
Took some sheepskins from my sheep that I had collected from another company nearby. There is a salting premise onsite and booking in procedure. Hides are left and processed, the end results are amazing from the oldest tannery in England. The staff are helpful, friendly and a pleasure to communicate with.
An excellent team, especially the manager Jeff. You will not get a better range of beautifully cared for and prepared sheep skins. They also to a dressing service for private smallholders for all types of skins. Sad to see the 1 star review here, as the place is designed to do what it does. It's an industrial building with the most incredible character and charm. I felt very privileged to have even got inside to see these old practices maintained in a traditional way.
We’ve been using Devonia for seven year now - for the tanning of a small number of sheepskins from our flock each year. They have always done a great job, always realistic about time scale, and ceaselessly friendly and welcoming. Dropping off, and collecting, our skins has become a really significant and special time of our smallholding year.
I needed just a small, leftover scrap of sheepskin to do a repair on a sheepskin rug. All the staff I spoke to, on the phone and in person, were so helpful. The place is fantastically interesting. It made my day to see the work in action - and I can now repair my rug, too. Thank you!
