I recently had the pleasure of visiting Devil's Own Tattoo and Piercings in Leicester, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. I’ve had a few tattoos done at Devils Own, and have been very pleased with the results, better than I could have imagined. The thing that sets this studio apart is the staff. From my first consultation to my latest tattoo I have felt very welcome. Staff are friendly and contribute to a relaxed, yet professional atmosphere in the studio. Work is to a high standard, and any ideas and designs are discussed with knowledge and experience that builds trust in the process. Before I start this review, I’ve had a good experience regarding piercings I had my nose pierced last year. Now onto my tattoo experience, I enquired about a hand tattoo 29/6/2023, I was going to get it done in September but I had to change the date and that was swiftly and easily done via a phone call. The day of my tattoo comes now on 7th December, the design Elva brings is nothing like what I discussed on 29/6, so they went and brought something that aligned with what I initially asked for and I mentioned I still wanted the tribal markings that I mentioned in the consultation in June, as you can see there aren’t any. The actual tattoo experience was fine but my issue is with the pricing and how the ink has come off after the tattoo during the healing process. Looking back I should’ve asked to see healed work on darker skin because not everyone can tattoo dark skin for whatever reason but that doesn’t excuse this piece of a joke on my hand that I now need to get sorted elsewhere. So the price I was quoted in June was £450, on the day I was then paying via time, I later disputed this and said I was told it’d be a fixed price of £450, studio came back to say no they said it was based on time and an estimate 1 that’s not what I was told, I have very good memory I would’ve went elsewhere if it was going to cost more than £450, 2 if I was told it’d be per hour then I would’ve been told the hourly rate on the day of the consultation which I wasn’t, it’s in the T&C’s I signed a day before my December appointment but I agreed to a fixed price of £450 but that wasn’t what I paid and because they noted on the consultation form “£450 based on time,” they’re apparently right. This was meant to be a day session, I didn’t tap out once but for some reason we didn’t finish in a day. I was there from 9:30am, tattoo probably started at 9:45/10am due to the wrong design being brought to me and ended session around 3:45pm. I ended up paying a total of £545 £225 deposit on 29/6, £180 on 7/12 for the first session, then a £70 deposit to finish the tattoo, then £70 on second and final session 18/1/2024 which was for the back of my forearm. From my experience I’m not happy, they do do touch ups but I shouldn’t have to be touching up a tattoo less than a month later, it being on the hand isn’t an excuse especially since even or my arm ink has come off. I’ve asked other tattoo artists and I have another tattoo which didn’t and doesn’t need a top up which is on my back- different skin type but still I’m not putting myself through pain to top up a tattoo that should have been done correctly in the first place, I’ve spoken to many people who have hand tattoos and they haven’t needed a top up within the first month or even year of it. In response to me saying the ink is coming off this was before the second session, I was advised it’s because I didn’t use the cream they sold, so on my second session I bought what they recommended and the same thing occurred. In the future Devil’s Own should be crystal clear on the pricing and if they can, have conversations recorded and learn how to tattoo dark skin. The first image was from the first session, the next 2 are the healing stage and the last ones are the tattoo completely healed… looking dull for 545 GBP Response to the studio: At the appointment you presented a design I didn’t ask for and then I had to go over what I wanted again. I still wanted the tribal markings within the design and I said this. I was told it’d be £450 for the day, never was I told the hourly rate or that it was an estimate until after the first session. I don’t know how many times I must iterate this. On your side it says otherwise that doesn’t prove what I was told. You will obviously go off of what’s on your screen. And as I’ve already mentioned, a tattoo shouldn’t be peeling off after a month nor should it look this dull nor should I need a touch up a month after. I know a touch up is included in the price but I don’t know why I keep repeating myself as to why I’m not going to go back for one.
If you ever need tattoos or piercings done, this is the spot to come too. Everyone that works in the studio is great, they look after you, great customer service, they’re all great people and to interact with. A lot of talented artist there too. This is my sixth time coming to Devils own tattoo to get my tattoo done so, it goes to show I trust them a lot. So I highly recommend them.
Fantastic service as always. I travel all the way from Derby just to get tattooed by Nathan and the team. Dan is outstandingly welcoming and everyone there makes you feel comfortable and looked after. I recently brought my daughter to devil's own to get a Piercing by kirsty and she was so professional and a kind hearted lady. My daughter was over the moon and I evan ended up pushing myself to get some tattoos because kirsty was so fantastic. I then met Dan couldn't fault the guy what a brilliant man to have at the front desk before I knew it we were laughing and joking together. Which made me feel so welcome. This Establishment has it all I promise you. Now the cherry on on the cake as they say. I had the honour to be tattooed by Nathan the owner of the business and boy am I happy with his skill speed and years of experience. This was a massive step for me. And Nathan has blessed me with his art work. Keep it up guys nothing but pure Professionalism
From talking to Dan at the consultation to getting the tattoo with Antonio. This experience was exceptional and I love my new tattoo. I have had so many good reactions to it. Look forward to booking in for the next one
