Small museum. The best thing for me was the great archeology in that you can see the layers of the streets beneath your feet. Not too much in the way of 'finds' but felt it was much well spent.
We loved it here. We spent around 2 hours in the museum with two kids age 6 & 7. Even with some things changed / removed due to the pandemic there was plenty to amuse the kids and interest the adults. The active archaeology is fascinating. Around £20 for a family ticket.
Great museum, has lots of interesting artefacts and a view of the original Roman road below Chester. The staff were great and has interactive items to teach children. Will go back again
Reasonable priced entry fee. Very informative notices about regarding relics etc on display, possibly in about hour. Difficult to find not their fault tucked away down back of an alley.
Interesting site with Saxon, Roman and dark age architecture partly excavated. Some good models, artifacts and explanations. Very good if you are interested in how Chester developed. Bit expensive for what it was.
Wonderful experience here, the children learnt a lot about early Romans in Chester and were able to see some artifacts from excavations. The guide, Jennifer was amazing, and kept the children enthralled with her amazing knowledge
Good experience for 4 y old child. Most enjoyed were about 8 y old. Something different to do. I hope they keep progressing with the digging.
Just a really nice little museum, staff are good fun too
