Designs in Mind is an outstanding organisation that helps people when they need it the most through designing many works of art. If you've never had the opportunity to visit their work shop it's more than worthwhile going.

Designs in Mind (DiM) is a group of artists that have been referred by their GP, Mental Health Service.  Personally, it has been an exciting journey as I was referred to DiM following my nervous breakdown in 2011.  I love what we do at DiM, the various mediums of art that we use, such as ceramics, glass, papercutting, screen printing, lino printing, weaving, string work, dry and wet needle felting, silk work etc.  The list seems endless and it's all exciting to be part of it.  I am now a volunteer 2 days a week at DiM and feel honoured and privileged that I am in this new role of "standing beside" others who were in my position a few years ago.  DiM is a great place to be and be part of and I would encourage anyone who has a mental health issue who enjoy art and design to ask their GP or Mental Health Worker to visit and be referred to DiM.  DiM has been a life saving group for me and I have been on and are still on a thrilling adventure.
