Following an accident whilst on holiday, I have nothing but praise for all the staff at DERWENT surgery. I don’t really like to single out anyone in particular but those who have helped care for me are Leanne, Naomi and Sarita and of course all the reception staff who have managed to get me an appointment at such short notice - usually within a couple of hours of ringing. They have all be so understanding and caring. Thank you x
Have to say after having an accident & initial treatment in york a&e follow up at Derwent surgery for a few weeks was 1st class. The nurses were brilliant & receptionists very helpful. Credit where its due they were very good. Thanks all at Derwent surgery.
I wanted to make an appointment with my daughter's doctor because she has a fever and a rash. The lady at the reception said that the doctor would see my daughter on the phone, when I said that I needed an appointment at the clinic, she said that if I was worried about my daughter, I should go to the hospital. And this situation is not the first time we have been treated this way. who is to treat us if not doctors, and they, unfortunately, do not have time for people. absolutely disgusting clinic
The staff and doctors are pleasant but ... I registered with the practice when I moved to Malton last month. I filled out the various forms including one for online access to my record and test results. After two weeks I still didn't have access so I visited in person and again filled out a form. I was given a piece of paper with website, username and temporary password. The derwentpractice.com website is not where you log on, you have to go to the NHS site - they need to change this. Having logged in I find my email address has been written wrongly so I can't use 2 step authentication. After three attempts I get my email corrected however I still don't have access to my records. I follow their instructions for requesting access but nothing happens. This is all a huge waste of time and based on a very inefficient service. Apart from this if I want to speak to anyone by phone the queues are monstrously long - you are number 43 in the queue last time!
Absolute nightmare to make an appointment. Called to try and get an emergency appointment, I was number 2 in the call queue. After 15 minutes I was still number 2 I'm the call queue. At this point I decided to go in to the doctors surgery to try and get an appointment, there was at least 5 staff stood at reception just talking. None of them were on the phone, just talking to each other. Worst GP surgery I ever ever known. The doctors and nurses are great, but the reception staff are a nightmare. I got spoken to immediately as soon as I went in, and managed to get an appointment for the same day. Not sure why the reception staff are so terrible always just stood talking to each other.
Pretty much impossible to get hold of them on the phone, we now have to drive down to the surgery every time we need to speak to someone. Opening hours online are incorrect, so sometimes when we try to go in to the surgery we find it closed when we get there. The reception staff are often rude, and the repeat prescription system is terrible.
Receptionists are rude doctors don't want to know about anything say they will look into it or refer you but don't it's like you're wasting their time. lying about putting prescriptions in, in general it's a horrible practice and it definitely needs looking at this is not the first time this has happened it happened many of times with myself
The surgery, staff, and especially the doctors are absolutely brilliant. Our glorious NHS ,as we know is under so much pressure, but this surgery continues to provide outstanding service. Ok so you have to wait a bit on the phone,so what! I know of places that ignore you period. Have patience and understanding is my motto and think of the pressures these people are under, and take that into account before moaning. Well done all!
Still phone appts offered only unless you get called in on a second appt. Took over an hour to get through on ‘you are number 3 in the call queue. As others have said I’m now put off most of the time from going to the doctor. Googling private treatment without the means to pay for it.Dire.
The government are urging us to obtain our boosters as soon as possible. 3 times my wife has been down the surgey and tried to make an appointment after receiving 2 texts saying she was now eligible and every time has been told that no appointments/vaccines are available. This morning she spoke to a receptionist who was quite rude, insisted she hadn't been sent any texts yet and finally relented and gave her an appointment for the 12th January!! ie 8 repeat 8 months after her second innoculation. Some of the receptionist at this surgery really need to obtain some PR skills!
