Located in the heart of the Derg Valley, The Derg Arms, Castlederg, offers a fantastic range of food, beverage and accommodation service.

Story

Established in 1926, originally as "Samuel Walls Wines and Spirits" the modern day Derg Arms remains firmly in the Walls family as one of Castlederg longest run family businesses.

Now under the watchful eye of Sammy Walls, his wife Mona (nee Lecky) and their daughters Olga and Jayne The Derg Arms attracts and welcomes patrons from near and far.

The recently (May 2014) renovated premises now provide a modern lounge suitable for parties, conferences and small weddings as well as a new reception area to the front. This expands on the existing 60 seater restaurant, 10 bedroom guesthouse with private lounge and bar area with a cosy log fire to the front for a quiet chat or the side sports bar for the football and rugby fans.

Delicious, warm Sunday dinner with the best apple tart I think I've ever had! The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I'd highly recommend a visit.

We stayed in room 3 it was very clean the bed was very comfy the staff can't do enough for you the breakfast was perfect as was the meals we had a genuinely fantastic place to stay
If you are Catholic, stay clear of this place. After recent events, it is clear that catholics are not welcome in the bar/restaurant. Customers singing and shouting offensive sectarian slurs towards catholics and the staff and owner does nothing to stop it. Over crowding during a pandemic. Owners and staff are responsible for there customers safety but they don't care and pack out the bar just to line there pocket. This is an disgrace of a bar and the shout hide there head in shame. Won't be getting another penny from me that's for sure

Lovely place, spotless clean and tidy, really confortable bed, great service, lovely people , loved the bfast coffee and all and the mother was a grate chatting with her. Wise woman. Definitely recommend this location in Castlederg cute little park behind, good market walking distance.
