This was a fantastic station to both arrive and depart at, with appropriately sized platforms for the different trains! The design is modernized, navigation is easy through the signs and the platforms are well connected. Departure boards are kept up-to-date, staff were friendly and cleanliness had been maintained!
Absolutely appalling behaviour from the staff that racially profiled my wife. To keep a long story short myself and a group of white people went through the gate to get to the East side without issue and as soon as my black wife got to the gate they demanded she show them a ticket despite being part of our group. The staff absolutely need sensitivity trading to avoid these kinds of situations in future.
Having family here we often come and go shopping and see some of the museums.
Arrived on time and felt better that if I'd driven! Derby train station is visibly of a newer modern construction, maybe not as interesting as it Victorian counterparts. Was easy to navigate around the platforms and to find the exit. Was a sunny finish to my trip and now for the short walk to where I'm now headed.
Staff are always helpful Ask about 'split fares'. If they can do it on your journey it can be a cheaper fare I had to travel through Covid for 8 month's from Derby so I saw the same staff all the time. There's one particular member of staff in the ticket office that put me onto the split fare. She's helpful, knows her stuff and is always smiling and happy Nice to have little chats with friendly people Top station and staff
Very good clean and tidy station with outlets such as Costa Coffee, WH Smith Newsagents and Uppercrust snack bar before your travel. There are kiosks to buy tickets but I find these under-manned at times. As a downside be careful of the parking there is long stay and short stay and dropping off is not clearly displayed. There is also a caged in cycle park for commuters
Good waiting areas, helpful staff
Generally quite good, situated fairly close to the city centre so access to the shops is easy. The station is a decent size, although it's small in comparison to other cities, it's fairly modern but is starting to show it's age in certain areas. Tickets are pre bookable; however, there's also a staffed ticket office and self service machines. An assortment of shops and a coffee shop is located in the main entrance as are cash machines. There's also coffee shops, waiting rooms and toilets on the platforms. The staff are friendly, polite, and really helpful and the station is easy to navigate. The platforms are incredibly cold and windy during the winter so wrap up warm.
Clean station. All of the platforms are spotted easily and you can find signs in everywhere. All the staff are friendly as well. Close to town centre and Derbion.
Used the passenger assistance at the station as I have a broken leg. All the staff were more than helpful and made a difficult journey so much better.
