Visited with a 7 & 8 year olds who love fish etc. This was great for them. Went round a couple of times to see everything. Went to story time to hear mystical tales on over Easter hols not cheap but we'll worth the pennies cause they loved it. Saw seals doing tricks at feeding time. Cafe was very busy but food was fine enough. Will be back.
Decent place for one time visit, although not worth the ticket cost. The main attraction is underwater tunnel. Seahorses and seals were fun too! We were able to see the whole aquarium in justcabout 40minutes with our 3 year old.
We enjoy visiting here as my toddler loves it. It is a little tired and hasn't changed since I was a kid, but you can get up close to the tanks and the tunnel is always interesting. There are lots of information boards, but these can be a bit small to read easily. However, the staff do regular informative talks. They have some good information about marine conservation and keeping our water clean, but sadly, they have a gift shop full of single use plastics! It doesn't take long to see everything so it can seem expensive. As we live fairly close, it was good to buy an annual pass, this pays for itself in a few visits and is a good option to keep the wee ones entertained.
The experience was great overall. We went with 2 under 3s and a 10 year old. The sea lion show was great, didn't last too long as it was just them getting fed but was still good to watch. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The star of the show was the huge tunnel where you sea the sharks , stingrays ect. Its was amazing to walk through and lasted a good 10 minutes if you take your time. The gift shop was great too, i wouldnt say it was too overprices. The overall experience wasn't very long, we went round a couple times just to make up the time so it would last longer. The 2 younger kids had a ball and the older kid wished that there was more to see. 4 out of 5 stars we would definitely go back
Pretty good for kids. Small but has a decent selection of tanks. The swamp tanks get a lot of condensation and the seal pen is green. Has a souvenir shop and a cafe. Outside area is pleasant with rail bridge above.
Not as big as I'd expected and the building etc could do with a bit of TLC. However, with the drop in income resulting from Covid-19 it's not really surprising that it could do with some investment. The kids still had a fantastic time. They went through the underwater tunnel 4 or 5 times. The food in the cafe was good and not too expensive.
Had a lovely time with my five year old granddaughter and disabled husband looking at the sea life. Lots to see and staff were very patient and willing to answer all my granddaughter's questions. A bit tight for a wheelchair especially when it was quite busy and there was no room for prams etc to overtake us on the ramps between floors. Disabled toilet was quite small and had no emergency cord. The gift shop was very expensive - £7 for a pencil and notepad.
Received a duo shark dive with my partner as a gift and could not have loved it more. Worth the money 100%, the trainers you go in with were lovely and so helpful and informative, made me feel safe and secure and more excited than I was before as a shark fanatic to get in the water. They even had a staff member go round the tank from the outside to take pictures and videos for us the whole time. Incredible experience highly recommend
Easy access, parking can be full quickly at peak tho. There are some amounts of small vivariums/aquariums which will take 15mins to see at best. The best of the place is definitely the small walk under the see through tunnel. However that's another 15-20min at best. Then there is the outdoor seal time 3 seals. Overall it is nice to do and see but plan for 1hr at max and don't expect to be blown away.
Amazing first experience of the tunnel. Not sure why the conveyer belt wasn't working. Wasn't too busy. The clues on the tanks for frogs helped where to look for some very tiny cute frogs. Very happy!
