Shocking. Their concessions make returns so difficult. You speak to the sales team at debs and are passed around the department with employees sending the same condescending email responses and then palm you off to go to the supplier. WHY SHOULD I GO TO THE SUPPLIER?! I purchased from YOU and they’re YOUR supplier. I can understand why these went under, seems they’ve come back trying to mimick Amazon with their “partnership brands” but haven’t quite mastered it. If you buy, just pray that nothing goes wrong as they won’t help you. Shocking
Complete shambles of a company with robotic customer service. Ordered a dress for an event this Saturday 14/09. I qualified for free delivery, but paid extra to have it delivered within 5 working days. Order was placed on September 4, should have arrived by September 11 yesterday at the VERY latest. According to Evri tracking and customer service, it has been sitting at the Debenhams warehouse since September 7. Nobody has even bothered to arrange a collection from either Debenhams or Evri. I told them they failed to provide the delivery service and needed to refund me my delivery fee, and they told me they wouldn't because it's not their policy. I paid for delivery within 5 working days, and they didn't deliver it within 5 working days, but wanted to keep my money. The confirmation email I received initially said, in fact, that my dress would arrive in 3 working days. Had I opted for free delivery, I could have expected a wait of 7 working days which is what we're coming to now. After much back and forth, they gave me back my delivery fee for the service they failed to deliver and called it a gesture of good will. Ummm... no, keeping the money would have been theft. The dress continues to sit in their warehouse. I've said I'd like to cancel the order now as there's no way it'll arrive in time and they've said they can't once it's been placed. But this dress is still sitting in their warehouse? It's now Thursday, I won't receive the dress on time even if someone bothers to send it, but I'll probably have to pay for returns. They refuse to do anything about it until Saturday which is when my event is because I should "allow for delays". Meanwhile, I have no dress and need to find a new one because it's unlikely this one will arrive in time. Their customer service lacks the initiative to solve any problems and is exceptionally robotic. Also you can't phone them. By the way, this dress was meant to be delivered by Debenhams themselves. A different item, which was delivered by one of their partners but ordered via the marketplace, arrived quickly. Debenhams was a decent brand, but it's now a nightmare. I will be telling all my friends to stay away from them and will never ever ever shop there again!
Please do not buy bathroom furniture from debenhams. The quality is very poor. Customer service is disgusting. No phone number at all. You never see the product name until they're on their way. Googled the make afterwards and the original company charges way less.
Online purchase, picture was completely different to what arrived. Now they're not responding. Misleading adverts on the website. Sham of a organisation. Wish I'd read reviews before purchasing. Have raised a complaint but don't think that will get anywhere.
Absolute rubbish customer service. I've been emailing for 2 days as I'm getting an error when trying to place an order. They're asking for the same info over and over again. Why can't they just place the order? Of course it's a different person replying every time and have shown no interest in sorting it.
I ordered a mattress through Debenhams marketplace that never arrived. Courier forged my signature as it's nothing like it. I've spent weeks without a mattress batting back and forth through customer service emails and they won't intervene because the seller said I received it. I've sent proof that my signature doesn't match their receipt. I've been told to go to the courier and log a dispute. But funnily enough the only way to contact them is via a live chat which is poorly manned as all emails are related to sales and marketing not delivery disputes. I am honestly so disappointed and this whole rigamarole has been draining and damaging mentally, not to mention financially having to organise a replacement and still pay for the one I didn't receive. I'm disabled, money is tight and I really can't keep doing this. Shame on debenhams for not having a better standard of customer care as truly what do I do now? Every time it feels like Debenhams understand my position and will intervene they turn around a day later to say the secondary seller says no refunds. This vicious cycle needs to end. So far they've shown me a signature that isn't mine and claimed that as proof I've received it and then today shown me a photo of my front door as claim that I've received it. I am highly confident that my front door is not sentient enough to sign for parcels so I still dispute this as proof. My entire reason for trusting purchasing a large item was because I'd always had high opinions of Debenhams and never expected this much trouble. Please note if this isn't solved by the end of this week then I will be getting klarna involved and failing that I will be left with no choice other than small claims court, and since Debenhams keep refusing to give me the suppliers trading name then I'll have no choice other than to name debenhams in the case.
Ordered outdoor table and chairs. 2 weeks later I still have 6 chairs and no table. I complained, a replacement was dispatched 3 days ago but still not arrived so I am still none the wiser when I will actually get my table. I complained again and received a £5 gift voucher for my inconvenience although I actually have to spend £5 to use it!!!!! Terrible customer service!!!!
Will not be buying from there again!!!! I ordered a mattress from here and was suppose to be delievered on Monday I received a text round 8am saying our mattress will not be delivered that day and will be the next working day. 1 hours later we got a phone call from delivery company apologising and said it will definitely be with us on the Tuesday again i took the day off without pay waiting for this mattress for then to get another text saying it was not going to be today! So I go back to work in the afternoon for them to say they have attempted to deliever! I contacted Debenhams directly and they’re passing the blame
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DEBENHAMS. THEY WILL SCAM YOU / STEAL YOUR MONEY. I ordered some garden furniture on 24th June 2024. I am still yet to receive these items nor have I received a refund despite requesting one 3 TIMES. Customers services are doing nothing to help me have my money returned. Every time I get in touch with customer services I am advised to “allow three days” despite them having my money for nearly 8 weeks. Awful awful awful service. I am now having to dispute the payment through my bank in the hopes of receiving a refund that way.
PLEASE READ AND LEARN. On August 15th I placed an order and paid for a set of rattan furniture for my wife's 60th birthday party I used to believe that a brand like debenhams would be a solid choice !!!!!!! Lesson one. Not all of my order arrived and I had to follow the matter up with numerous emails, initially responded to in a timely manner but with no substance or rectification still the same at the time of writing numerous replies around ' We are following this up and if you don't have a response ' = I'm sure all readers of this have the next sentence or two readily processed so I'll leave it there. Today I received 2 emails from debenhams both contradictory. 1, suggests that my outstanding furniture worth a few hundred pounds will be with me ASAP. 2, MH Star , subtley suggesting that they did deliver the full order and placing some suspicion at my door. Talking about my door !!!!! I have a ring doorbell and extensive CCTV, so I know exactly what was left at my door. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND AVOID AT ALL COST !!!!!!!
