The Debenhams Restraunt has certainly gone down hill lately. My wife and I have only been in a couple of times in the last couple of months, but we won't be going again. The first time was in August, just after the main lockdown. There was a poster at the entrance saying the restaurant was participating in the government scheme, 'eat out to help out', and was offering half price drinks Monday to Wednesday. It was Monday, so my wife purchased two scones and two coffees, only to be told at the till that the restaurant was no longer participating in the scheme and she was charged full price. To add insult to injury, she was also charged ten pence extra to the adverised price for the coffees, as the price had only gone up the day before and they hadn't had time to change the menu board. That put us off going to the restauraunt, but on the 20 October 2020 we went again, and I purchased two large coffees that were advertised at £2.70 each. I went to the till, handed over a £10.00 note, put the change in my pocket and took the receipt. When I got to the table, I looked at the receipt and saw I'd been charged £2.80 for each coffee, not the advertised £2.70. When I complained, they again told me the priced had gone up the day before and they hadn't had time to change the menu. I insisted on the 10p refund on each coffee, and they grudgingly gave it to me, all the time complaining. They were still displaying the incorrect menu prices when we left.
Went for lunch and the staff were unhelpful and inappropriate to our disabled group put in a serious complaint and as yet have not had a result
