This place was a beautiful mecca of craft beer in a sea of Guinness. They love what they do and are happy to chat about the beer. My family was grumpy until we found this place. Where else can you have a beer while looking out over a river at a castle? I loved the beer and the variety. It's a must visit.
To start with interior of place, it's very modern, clean and nice to spend dinner there. Tables are spread around enough to be able to have comfortable atmosphere while eating. There was live music tonight what was very nice add on to our dinner there. Service was good, fast delivery of drinks and food. Pizza was delicious and probably my second favourite from now in Athlone Town. Loaded fries with garlic mayo, parmezan cheese and sausages wasn't my favourite and I wouldn't order it again. Chicken wings were bit dry and not the best texture while chewing. In sauce for wings was very strong taste of vinegar that I didn't like at all. Hotdog was completely something different then we thought we will receive. It wasn't presentable or eatable in that small basket that was served. Sausage is just to big and its impossible to mix all the ingredients at the same time to eat it. In general it was good but proportion of the food was badly planned and its not enjoyable to eat. From all the food above I would come back for pizza and to try beer as this time I had Irish coffee what I had to say was very very strong coffee alcohol strong. So in taking consideration of everything I had to be realistic and score it as 3/5 but definitely would and will come back in summer to sit down for beer, pizza and view on the river Shannon.
Really enjoyed our brunch here, yummy food, great price and the beer tasting platter was very cool. The beers were lovely! Venue is a great spot, could just imagine how nice it is on a summer day! Our server was so friendly and really helpful with beer recommendations. Will definitely return again!Food: 4/5
I visited during the one night I had in Athlone during a week tour around Ireland. Starting with a "Marooned" IPA from the brewery while I waited for my food wasn't a bad choice to drink. All good flavours in the pulled pork hamburger, although I felt that there was perhaps a little too much pork for a good balance with the other flavours and textures.
Best view in Athlone, lots of beer choices and most of all: As an Italian I have to admit that the pizza is good. Better the most other places in Athlone.
I only stayed for a coffee. I'd love to drop back in when I've more time to bring the family for some food too. The staff were super friendly and attentive and kept everything under control from what I saw of the other outside diners. The views of the Shannon/ Lough Ree are spectacular in any weather. The location is very central so you are never far away from shopping areas and tourist attractions. See you next time lads and thanks again for allowing me to get the footage I required. If you'd like a copy of the brief time lapse I managed just let me know. -Lee
We booked the brewery tour and spent an enjoyable time with Liam, very informative and great craic, food was delicious. They have plenty going on with food offers and music. We will be back!!!Food: 5/5
We only came for food so I can’t comment on the beers but they do look and sound great. The location is fab, interior was cool, staff were helpful and very chill. Didn’t realise they only served dinner later in the day Sunday so we had the brunch options. They were ok, nothing to scream about and honestly left the place still hungry.
Second time eating here but this time with the family. Pizza is up there with some of the best I've ever had. My girls loved it including the loaded fries and onion rings. Couldn't try the beer as I was driving but have tried the can selection before and they were . Will definitely back and highly reccomend.
The full package, excellent service, food and atmosphere. John is a gent and we had a good chat about all things craft beer by the bar, which faces the huge glass panes of the brewery. Lovely place to hangout and will be back for lunch next time I'm in Athlone.Food: 5/5
