Went to donate items given by my place of work and me/my partner. Amazing crew run this place. First impressions count as they say and I'll be back in the new year to help out more!! Update: fantastic people here. All the dogs are well looked after. Sand pit is huge and perfect place to let your dog run in their own in a secure environment
Adopted my first greyhound from Daybreaks 5 months ago but continue to go back whenever I can. Lovely people, treat the hounds very very well. Made to feel like part of the family whenever we go. Please think about adopting a greyhound, be it from Daybreaks or anywhere else.
We rehomed an ex-racer, Redhill Lucy, from Daybreaks in October 2020. The dogs are well looked after and cared for with Daybreaks being careful which trainers they take retired dogs from. Daybreaks have been helpful and supportive, whilst they also offer grooming services and use of the sand run an enclosed space for your greyhound to run around in for suggested donations to the charity. Highly recommended!
Without a doubt, some of the loveliest people that I've had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot fault the staff or this greyhound rescue centre in any way. The volunteers and the lovely ladies that run it genuinely care about finding these greyhounds great, loving homes. So helpful and so informative - I cannot recommend them strongly enough. The greyhouuds are very well cared for and loved. I could not be any happier. I have a beautiful new family member.
What a lovely place! Ruth, the top lady, is extremely nice & very helpful as was everybody I met when I dropped in. The place is clean, well maintained & organised The greyhounds I met were all lovely & appeared to be happy & well looked after in spotlessly clean spacious cages! Despite it being walk time, the dogs were well behaved & patient as their handlers got ready, quite unlike the racing dogs I've encountered before, so these dogs are clearly well disciplined. Though friendly, the dogs weren't overtly needy, so they're obviously getting lots of affection & attention. Daybreak accept donations of bedding, including clean duvet sets, duvets & pillows, which they use for the dogs. They may also take miscellaneous items in good condition to sell in their small, on-site shop - do check with them first. *Finally, be extra careful when trying to find them. I overshot twice & also went for a lovely drive through the countryside behind them, all thanks to the road works at the roundabout, which currently no longer exists! So go slowly & keep your eyes peeled as they're set back from the road, down a drive behind a guesthouse with no obvious roadside signage. They're situated immediately BEFORE Damson Lane, not down it!!!! I ended up parking behind the pub & much to the amusement of the taxi drivers they're just up the road from the airport unloaded & carried three heavy bags of bedding back to Daybreaks!!!
We hired out the sand run at Daybreaks for our dogs, the space is great for your dogs to run around it is securely fenced so dogs can run around freely especially for our beagle who loves to run off when he catches a scent plenty of toys & water available too! Everyone at day breaks were so friendly and the work they do to take care of the greyhounds ready for their forever homes is amazing! I unfortunately wasnt in a position to adopt however i was more than happy to contribute to their charity! Keep up the good work xx
So easy and pleasant to deal-with. They obviously love their dogs. No rush, completely happy to answer any questions and offered great advice. Greyhounds make super pets... Go and treat yourself to a devoted friend and family member.
Awesome place. Always go back for food there the staff are helpful and kind I can't fault the place at all. Went back on the 8th to take Sally to see santa and we go there for the sand run and pamper sessions too. The prices of stock and pamper sessions are competitive it's always a win win here.
Second time we have rehomed a greyhound from here, all the staff are lovely and do what they can to help you match up with the right forever friend for your family. Thanks to a great team. Please give a greyhound a chance they can make really great family pets. They are normally very good walking on a lead, they are used to being kennelled so can normally be left on their own for a few hours. They don't need loads of exercise 2 20min walks a day and the rest of the day they are happy to cuddle on the sofa.
have just adopted another greyhound they still have plenty if anyone is interested in adopting and they're better in pairs as they keep each other company if your at work all day .
