Why do all the staff take their lunch break at the same time, closing the pharmacy, instead of staggering it and remaining open? Surely this is common sense and would help to keep the ridiculously long queues down and keep the pharmacy running more efficiently.nAlso, noone ever answers the phone! We have to call the GP reception and they then have to run around trying to get hold of the pharmacy.nIt must be very tiring on the staff having grumpy customers all the time due to poor management.
Today i was refused access to the pharmacy to collect an urgent medication for my baby before 1pm despite the stated opening times being until 1pm because the staff had decided to deem themselves busy enough already due to 4 people still being in the queue.nnI had already waited for 30 minutes in the queue to see the pharmacist to request eye drops to be told that due to my baby being under 2years old, he would require a prescription from the doctor.nThe doctors were most helpful and provided the prescription immediately so I ran back to the pharmacy with baby and toddler in tow, to get there several minutes before 1pm to be refused access by a staff member physically blocking the door and preventing access telling me they were already closed. The doctor orderly man behind me had a severe chest infection and a prescription in hand after leaving the doctors surgery also.nnI showed her my iPhone stating at this point 12.58 and she continued to tell me they were already closed because they had 4 customers and I should visit another pharmacy. I did explain it’s wasn’t just that easy with two small unwell children with me to do that.nnTo add to this annoyance-it turns out the pharmacists information is out dated and he could have in fact provided the medication himself without prescription as the details for this changed back in 2021!!nnThis chemist has always had long waits and huge queues with rude staff but the very least they could do is realise that the people in the queue do not feel well and need some help, the basics -ensuring patients can actually access their services during their STATED opening times without being told to go elsewhere and being met with anything but sympathy.
Staff are always pleasant and polite and doing what they can but clearly understaffed! Always get the impression that regardless of how in advance you order your prescription it will never be ready for when you collect and will only be made up when you ask for it at the counter which will generally mean at least a 20 minute wait, may not be completely fair on the staff that work there but something is wrong with this system the facility was built bringing 3 surgery’s together but only 1 very overworked and busy pharmacy!!
Whenever I ring this pharmacy to arrange collection of my prescription they never answer the phone very poor customer service
Im reading these reviews & it's such a shame as the girls up at the pharmacy all work extremely hard.nI use this pharmacy every month & have done for a few years with no issues. I order my prescription using the app, 7 working days before i run out and it is usually waiting on the shelf, there has been a few occasions where it has to be checked by the pharmacist but only a 5-10 minute wait which i think is reasonable considering they have to check its correct. The staff are under alot of pressure but are all trying their best. They had been short staffed for a while but I have seen some new faces so hopefully this has been sorted.nMany of the times, when I've been waiting in the que their has always been someone being rude to the counter staff because they themselves havent waited the allocated time 7-10 working days and aren't happy about waiting, if you waited this allocated time you would not have a problem.nOver all the staff are all polite, hard working & deserve some recognition.
