Story

Basingstoke is home to a thriving music scene. Our store strives to support it's local scene, with venues and theatres hosting events that span the full musical spectrum. The town is also home to more traditional musical groups, from orchestras to brass bands. Our Basingstoke store is located at the site of the old Modern Music store within the Festival Place shopping complex. Open Mon-Sat, the store supplies everything a musician may need.

We have a wide selection of electric guitar/basses, amps and effects always available. Dawsons is one of the UK’s leading Gibson dealers, and our Basingstoke store is always well furnished with their instruments, along with a wide selection of Epiphone guitars. We also stock a wide array of guitars from Fender, Ibanez, Gretsch and more. For those who prefer the guitar in its acoustic form, the store has models for all budgets, with guitars from Fender, Epiphone, Yamaha and Farida.

If aiming to record your ideas or performances, whether it is for a simple demo or a full album recording, Dawsons Basingstoke has a selection of hi-tech and recording equipment, from audio interfaces, controller keyboards and software, to monitor speakers, microphones, portastudios, and just about anything else you may need to preserve your work at the highest quality.

Our Piano section is constantly expanding. The selection of digital pianos at the store includes a comprehensive range of Yamaha, Roland, and Kawai models. A range of home keyboards from Yamaha are always in stock, alongside synths from Roland, Korg and Novation

For brass and woodwind players, a selection of beginner and intermediate instruments are available, with models from Yamaha, Buffet, Trevor James, Aulos, Jupiter and Mirage.

The sheet music department in Basingstoke stocks a comprehensive range of books. Its vast selection covers vast musical ground. Amongst the shelves, you’ll find the majority of the ABRSM and Trinity publications. Sheet music is also available to order.
