Dawlish Museum Society
"With 11 rooms over 3 floors the Museum is famous for its display of Piper Bill Millins' D-Day bagpipes. Packed with artifacts the displays in Dawlish Museum are regularly updated and depict life past and present in the town and notably tell the story of the February storm of 2014 which severely damaged the railway line. A vast archive of 100's of rare historical photographs can be seen in album form , artwork or on the PC. This seasons new display tells the story of Dawlish Warrens development form a former wasteland to the thriving tourist attraction it is today."

The displays they put on never disappoint. The dioramas are well made, and I do love the displays that show off the town. Friendly staff know their history and are always willing to help. Worth coming back each season to see what they have in store.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Brilliant loved it i am not into museums but my 11 yr old son is and only £2 entry but but wow a peoples museum yes something for everybody in there and A History lesson too i would Reccomend this to visit when in Dawlish a short walk from town centre or up by the Green and if travelling by car well plenty of parking as its beside a council car park yes an Amazing place full of yesteryear
This is a fascinating little museum. Tucked away at the back of a car park in the town, it is a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. Having paid the small entrance we were immediately engrossed in the first room all about Piper Bill Millins. I won't spoil the surprise but we must have spent about an hour just in this room. The rest of the museum is all about local history including the storm in 2014 which demolished part of the railway line in Dawlish. The museum relies on entrance fees and donations which is a pity as it deserves better funding. Please give it a visit, you won't be disappointed.
Interesting, informative and great value. Worth a visit
A visit to Dawlish Museum is spent in a happy, friendly atmosphere. A very interesting and varied experience and a worthwhile activity for children, to relate to past times and feel continuity with the present.

Great place to visit as there is so much to see. Only £2 to go in and many items of note. Look out for the Victoria kitchen, it's fantastic and really takes you back in time.
A small museum tucked away at end of car park but it was well worth the cost 3 floors of things to look at, trails for the kids , as well as toys.
