David was our first port of call when planning our extension and we are delighted that we decided to go with him. He was extremely easy to work with and helped to coordinate other trades throughout the project which was very helpful. David’s work ethic is superb – always on time and he even worked over weekends to make sure that things got finished. He was courteous and friendly at all times and always checked that we were happy with the quality of work – which we were. He kept us informed at all times of any changes needed to the plans and was is meticulous in his approach. We cannot recommend David highly enough – reliable, value for money and work of the highest quality.

We first met David in 2011 when he undertook several jobs as part of a full house renovation. These tasks included a stove installation, a substantial patio job and the reinstatement of a sandstone wall in place of the old net house which had been unfortunately left to ruin by the previous owner and first had to be made safe and removed. We've continued to turn to David over the years as his work is to the highest standard with great attention to detail and he is wonderfully reliable. I would highly recommend him.

We met David for the first time a couple of years ago when we bought a holiday property in Pittenweem. David has undertaken a variety of works for my wife and I over the past couple of years; including laying a new driveway, landscaping our garden and various other smaller jobs. David is 100% reliable and his work is always completed to a very high standard. He is hardworking, highly personable and turns up when he says he will and does what he says he will do; sounds simple but surprisingly hard to find these days! He also keeps us involved as work progresses to ensure that things are taking shape as we envisaged and to make sure that we end up delighted with the work when it has been completed. I would recommend him unreservedly.

David has recently re-pointed the base of our Victorian greenhouse. He did a beautiful job. He found when he picked out the top layer of cement that it was originally pointed with lime mortar and so worked with lime mortar to create a beautiful finish. He came on the day he said he would and kept exactly to his quote even though I think he did extra work. Extremely reliable, a perfectionist in his work and reasonable in his charges. DSB builders David Shepard did some major renovation work on our house last year. He and his team were excellent. David was prompt and precise with his quote, arrived when he said he would, worked diligently and co-ordinated seamlessly with other trades. He was also a great source of advice when asked and was able to easily and calmly deal with issues when they arose. Also, his final invoice had a clear breakdown was the same as his quote. Would highly recommend !!

Dave carried out the building work on our property in Cellardyke. He was competitively priced and spoke to us at length on various aspects of the job. His main work is new builds, so his knowledge is extensive. The work included an extension, demolishing of inner walls and removing a chimney and chimney breast. He encountered a few unforeseen problems including drainage and dampness due to the age of the house. Dave and Gregor dealt with all these issues and more, to a very high standard, in a very professional and competent way. Dave is extremely motivated, always looking ahead and nothing was ever too much of a problem, especially on the day they started, it was torrential rain. He kept to the timeline and always went that extra mile. Ordering the skips and clearing up as he went. We would highly recommend Dave for any job, in fact he will be coming back to give us a quote for a patio.

We are a small property development business in East Fife. David has done a few jobs for us on a couple of houses. His knowledge of building, regulations, and construction is extremely helpful. His work is exceptional and his rates highly reasonable. Best of all, he is extremely reliable, a massive bonus for any local company.
