What a great little fish and chip shop! Space to eat in, standard fish and chips menu, but the service was great - the staff were very attentive and polite. The battered cod was delicious with good crisp batter, nice chips and a decent pot of tea for two to wash it down. The price seems reasonable for a seaside town too. Highly recommended.
Tucked down a side street and off the main road it's easy to miss Daves Fish Bar. If you're wanting fish and chips in the town, then this is the place. It's clean, super tasty and better value than some of the others, plus you can sit outside! Portion of chips for £2.20. Get in!
After a bracing, breezy walk over Beeston Bump we stopped here for a fish and chip lunch. After a few minutes wait we had a table in the restaurant although there is the usual fish and chip takeaway option here too. The food was served very quickly and all freshly cooked and piping hot and plenty of it! One adults fish and chips, two adult sausage and chips which were all very substantial portions plus a seniors meal which was amazing value as included bread and butter and a pot of tea. All this plus drinks came to a very reasonable £40. The restaurant was busy and seemed to be popular with locals and tourists alike. The person who served us was friendly and efficient. We've been here before and would certainly return. Be aware that although the restaurant takes card payment the takeaway food is cash payment only
As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted and seated. We were given time to look at the menu, which had a good selection of fish dishes, plus other choices. However, we were there for a lunch of fish and chips. The waitress took our order and very soon was back with our pots of tea. Not long after the fish and chips arrived, piping hot, with light crispy battered portions of fish, one cod and one plaice and chips. The staff were very friendly and we were left to tuck in and enjoy. Would definitely go back again, when we next visit Sheringham.
Updated review , ate in today and had Daves Special for £10.30 , consisting of Haddock , Chips , Beans , Bread & Butter , Coffee . The chips looked a little undercooked and the fish seemed to be wet under the batter , tasted ok , but didnt seem upto the usual high standard when i have takeaway . The service was good and speedy . Very good quality fish and chips , haddock and chips £7 , always quick service , the only negative thing I can say is that they don't have a card payment , so its cash only , but plenty of cash machines on the high street
We took our Grandsons for fish and chips before going on the steam train in the evening. Very welcoming, the resturant was spotless and the fish and chips were very well cooked. The waitress was very patient waiting for the boys to make their choices. Food arrived quickly lovey an hot. Very good experience and reasonably priced given today's rising costs. Thank you. Had a lovely bite to eat for lunch in the restaurant. Super kid friendly with all the art work on the walls my 3 year old absolutely loved it. Very good portion sizes, along side friendly and fast service. Everything was very reasonably priced and good value for money. We will definitely be back!
This was a hit with our large crowd we met up with over Easter. Cash only, which if you're prepared is no issue. Brilliant, hot, tasty food...Food: 5/5
My husband had the fish and chips and said it was excellent. Best he’s had in a while. However, I gave three stars because they cook the chips in beef dripping so they are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. It’s also cash only which can be a bit tricky.
Great chippy, queue out the door on a Tuesday night. Opted for a battered sausage, which I haven't had for years, chippy and curry sauce. All beautiful and fresh and service with a smile. Would definitely recommend
