Top class restaurant serving creative and delicious food. The setting is traditional gastro pub, but here it is perfectly lit, warm, clean and shiny. The service was welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. The menu is made up of classic meat and fish dishes, brilliantly tweaked and given new life. Ingredients are local and fresh, bursting with flavour. The wine list offers a great selection for pairing with the dishes. We enjoyed a fabulous meal and look forward to visiting again.
We dined here and the food was fantastic, the best gastro-pub cuisine we've had in some time. However, the service was lacking, we felt neglected and had to go to the bar to order additional drinks. There was no indication of slow service or the long wait time between dishes. The service should match the quality of the food, but unfortunately, that was not the case.
The pork belly was absolutely delicious and the service was spot on. Could have done with extra Yorkshire pubs, got told they only have exactly the right amount for one each with the beef! How hard is it to make a couple of extra Yorkshire puddings?Service: 5/5
Surprised with the stunning lunch we chanced upon at The Dartmoor Inn on Easter sunday. Hear the deserts are fab but we just couldn’t manage another morsel of deliciousness. Highly recommended on the way back from Lydford Gorge.
Best stay over we've had anywhere I feel, everything from the welcome, through the meal and service, the room and then the breakfast. All well presented and tasty. Recommended to anyone looking for a satisfying stay.
I took some friends for dinner here. We had drinks, arancini and crab for starters, then venison and hake for mains. Finished with sticky toffee pudding, a chocolate brownie and panna cotta. Everything was a delight, with balance and surprise in every forkful. Service was charming.
Food was good, would of been better if side plates were removed after starter, some serving spoons for vegetables, offering of mustard or horseradish. Drinks were quite poor, warm Guinness from a can and flat lemonade. Chairs were very squeaky and uncomfortable.
We came here for an evening meal, food was excellent and we both enjoyed our starters and mains. Unfortunately service was only good for the first half an hour, once a few more tables were occupied, we felt abandoned. I tried on many occasions to order a tea for my wife, but the staff kept going to other tables we were seated in the corner, in the end I went to the bar to order, and to pay. I would of expected the service to be at the same level as the food, but sadly it was not.
Love it here Tess and rhe team look after us plus our dogs so we'll. Then we get to the food; Jay whats your choice this time and I leave it for him as chef to choose. Just amazing. Already booked to come back.Rooms: 5/5
We were truly mind-blown by the food. It was fantastic in every way. This pub is an absolute hidden gem and deserves all the Michelin stars!Rooms: 5/5
