Clean station and convenient location.nLong stay and short stay parking both easily accessible. Clean toilets. Helpful staff. Good service by LNER. Plenty of shops around and plenty of space for waiting your train.
This was a superb station for both arrival and departure, with a glorious circular design! The glass roof is a pretty section and the old building itself is well maintained, vintage items are kept from the station's earlier days even. Flowers and the piano are interesting additions too, subway helps with getting across the long station and toilets were kept clean. Departure boards are kept up to date and there is even a vintage clock, platforms are appropriately sized for longer trains too!
Currently under a refeb for 2 new platforms, welcome centre and a new footbridge.
The staff at Darlington Station are a very friendly, helpful Team. Each person from the ticket office, ticket barrier and the cafe were helpful, good humoured and gave out correct information. The station was clean, parking was available and the train was on time. Definitely a 5 star experience today.
An absolute dump. There are no cafes once you get through the ticket barriers but no warning of this. The waiting room is a draughty corridor with children using scooters. Signage is terrible, staff rude.
