The cafe is small but definitely pretty.mostly open in the summer. Got good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Quick serve n yummy
Stopped by for lunch on way sailing from East Kyle to Fairlie. Fabulous BLT and very hearty tuna salad, washed down with tea and cake. Fantastic location on the shore front with some seating outside. Great service.
Absolutely phenomenal! Had soup of the day with warm cheese scone. Soup was lentil and it was delicious. All came with a side of fantastic service and great conversation. Oh, and a fantastic view to top it off! Highly recommend.
Lovely pet friendly cafe with the best potato and leek soup and panini my wife had a cheese and onion toastie with lovely large sliced bread and salad and a cuppa. Prices were good and service from the owner and his wife was fantastic it was very busy just the two of them but took care of all the customers in a timely manner. Would recommend.
This is possibly the best place to get food on the island! It has lovely views over the seafront and there's a pair of binoculars if you can grab them to look out at little cumbrae and Arran. I always have the breakfast here and it's second to none, fantastic. I've really missed square sausages! It is quite small here so if it's busy you won't get in, but it's worth the wait.
A delightful and delicious cafe where the service is beyond friendly! This was my first visit to the island of Cumbrae and Thursday prior to a bank holiday weekend was perfect for having a cycle round the island nearly to ourselves. Arriving in Millport we tried to find open restaurants, somewhat difficult indeed! It was such a pleasant surprise finding The Dancing Midge Cafe not only open but oh so welcoming with the fabulous lunch selection included! My daughter had the chicken and rice soup with a panini and myself having carrot and coriander soup with panini sandwich for my lunch. Both soups and panini were very flavourable and generous servings. In fact so much so we missed out on ice cream in the village center opting for something once we returned by ferry to Largs. The Dancing Midge is directly opposite the Crocodile Rock, a well known landmark in the Centre of Millport. Not only are lunch items plentiful on their menu but breakfast could be a pleasure as well with varied coffee/ espresso selections amongst pastries and standard breakfast items. I can highly recommend The Dancing Midge for a meal in Millport, you won’t be disappointed!
Very nice Full Scottish breakfast served up by very friendly and helpful staff.
Great little cafe, the staff were really accommodating. Gluten free options available if you're a celiac like myself. Would visit again.
The cafe is small but perfectly situated. The decor is fresh and very 'seaside' with lovely art on the walls. They have appropriate Covid measures in place. The owner is really friendly and helpful. I visited a few times during my stay. The full breakfast might seem expensive but it is so filling I didn't eat for another 7 hours and even then it was just a sandwich. The produce they serve is amazing and the owner will happily tell you where it's from neighbouring island so all locally produced, he should be on commission from the butcher! On my last morning I had a roll with bacon and black pudding, again it was so filling. Cooked to perfection. I really wish I'd taken away some cake or one of the huge scones that looked so very good. The only problem I can see is that the food is so delicious you want more but are stuffed!
Arrived at the dancing midge yesterday morning for some breakfast. Warm welcome from the owners, clean bright and Covid safe. We had 4 breakfast rolls sausage and bacon with potato scones and 1 haggis and black pudding. All the rolls were fresh and fillings were great. Highly recommend. And the view over the bay was spectacular. Great place to eat.
