We caught a train to Edinburgh Waverley which took 20 minutes and cost just over £5.00 each for a return.nWe travelled between 8.00 am and 9.00 am on a weekday and had anticipated parking for the car might be an issue. However this was not the case and there was ample parking.nWe purchased tickets from the machine located on the northbound platform and walked over the footbridge to the southbound platform.nThere is a waiting room on the southbound platform. There is a small refreshment kiosk just as you leave the carpark to go up the ramp to the station.nThis is a better option to visit Edinburgh, rather than drive into the city and pay the costly fees to park your car.
Amazing views of the Fourth Rail Bridge. First arrived thinking I would maybe not get parked but there is a VERY large car park at the station. I travelled here so that I could cross over the Fourth Rail Bridge. Wait wasn’t too long for a train and the journey over the bridge was a fantastic one. You can get off at North Queensferry and go back over back to Dalmeny. Trip is rather inexpensive so worth the money.
The last station before The Forth Bridge going north.nIt's small and irregularly staffed, but there are ticket machines available.nYou can get a view of The Forth Bridge from the platform if the weather is clear.
Decent station. There's a shelter incase it's raining but the station isn't manned. There's a disabled toilet hidden around the corner, which can be used with a RADAR key. It isn't really clean though.. Again, like a lot of stations along the Fife Coastal route, the station is only wheelchair accessible from one platform, which is platform 1 for Dalmeny.
Lovely view, quiet and calmer while waiting for the train!
