A great house, lots of space for everyone we had a wonderful time. Lovely quant village and all the facilities we would want in and around the cottage. However, refunding our £300 was an issue, the admin in charge said she didn't receive emails, was the same email the booking was made on, also had a mobile phone number. We eventually received it after much communication 10 days after we came home. This is such bad practice or shoddy administration, kind of took the shine off things.
We had - THE BEST - time here. We spent a weekend celebrating our gorgeous bride to be finally, after a few setbacks! And it was perfect. The photos do not do this place justice at all - its enormous! Such a comfortable set up - and with some amazing historical/quirky features! An amazing property that all of us would reccomend.
Family weekend excellent accomodation well stocked with all kitchen appliances bedrooms well appointed games room excellent sauna got high marks could do with a ramp for wheelchair access, would re-book
Group of 12 of us went for a friends 50th. Large converted church on 3 levels. Great size and layout. Most bedrooms are interior facing though which is a bit weird but they were big enough for 3 nights. Very good value for the money.
Recommended to us. And a brilliant recommendation.nMore than enough space for our extended family.nLarge kitchen, diner sitting area. Accommodated all 12 of us easily.nGames room massive and we'll equipped. Children - well in their 20s and 30s loved it. But would be great for kids in teans.nBedrooms great - 3 ensuite and family bathroom.nOnly issue is if anyone wants an early night - not a problem with our lot!!! - the noise from the games room travels round the house. But there is a quiet ensuite on ground floor.nNot much in town - couple of alright pubs. Chippy is good as is butchers. But loads to do nearby. Barnard castle worth a visit - even if you happy with your eyesite. Low force and high force lovely.nSo would recommend for a family gathering or group of friends for a few days away.
