Mainly a golf venue but we stayed as just hotel guests. The room was lovely with a nice view out on to the golfing course. One slight criticism was that the shower was quite small. However there was a good sized bath we could have used. Hotel food was of an excellent standard and staff friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Well worth a visit.
Just went here for the golf. Really nice course. Played on the shorter course but still very challenging. The par 3s especially challenging, good fun or a disaster depending on your tee shot! Although played here in the hight of summer, July 22, and most courses are bone dry this course played really well. The fairways were dry but no way as much as some courses we've played recently. They must give there fairways a little water. Even the tee boxes where green enough not to have to struggle to place a tee. The greens were in great condition and played quite fast. Buggies looked new and are kept nice and clean. Beautiful course with lots of lovely scenery. Nice club house and hotel attached. Golf bar was small but a fairly good choice. Staff throughout seemed very nice and friendly. Drinks on veranda overlooking the course is nice to end to the day. Will be coming here again.
Stayed for the Christmas party night. Beautiful location. Room was enormous, we had the disability room which was fine and well layed out. The en suit was nice but needs some shelves. I did find it strange that a disability room was on the top floor, you had to pass through 2 fire doors that only open one way and are very heavy to get to the lift. Not sure how that works if your in a wheelchair! The food and service was great as was the DJ and disco. Breakfast was marvellous and would definitely go there again, even just for the breakfast
Pros: very nice bed & clean room and beautiful area + swimming pool ! Cons: The hotel doesn’t order you taxis and there is a list of numbers to call where none of them are available or pick up so beware you might get stuck in the middle of nowhere I was told to call them numbers myself and none of the taxis were available so I just sat outside the hotel crying until my friends picked me up. But if they were not in the area I would honestly not know what to do. Check out is at 11:00 not the standard 12:00 so be careful: I was not told that at the check in, they did let me stay till 12:00 though Coming to the hotel means the guest is not familiar with the area and some extra support or a least information would be helpful.
Nice golf resort and course with swimming pool. Great service and really friendly staff. Decor could use a refresh and the pool is tiny. Dated looking and rusty beams span the pool roof. Sauna was broken and the floors in the pool area were dirty. Rooms: We had a large family room with King size bed and a nice clean bathroom with complementary lotions and shampoos restocked daily.
Beautiful hotel, massive room. Well worth the money. Would definately visit again. Downside only hotel we have ever been to with no toiletries so make sure you remember to pack shower gel etcRooms: 5/5
Just returned from a works Christmas Dinner there. The food wasn't brilliant, had the look of having been played up an hour before and kept warm. It was however very well organised, the staff were polite and it was clean. Pity the DJ didn't smile, but he did have some good music, well in my opinion.Service: 3/5
I think you get true insight into a business when something goes wrong and how it's dealt with. We traveled from around the country for a 2 round, 1 night break. The weather was awful and the course was closed on the second day. Vouchers offered for a round clearly doesn't work if you're travelling for miles and they have outright refused any kind of cash refund. Shocking to treat customers in this way. Very poor management.
We did the DH36, both the Old and Woosnam courses with a brunch in the middle. Great day with brilliant courses and wonderful facilities. Just wished I'd booked a room so I could enjoy the bars for longer!Service: 5/5
I couldn't say about the rooms as I went there to swim. Really nice, warm pool and a small but well-kitted-out gym. Not too busy at all.Location: 4/5
